Volunteering while on illness benefit

    Is anyone here volunteering while on illness benefit and did you need to get any paper work from social welfare?

    If your fit enough to volunteer you might leave yourself open to some very awkward questions from the dsfa! just a thought

    Today Welfare gave me permission to volunteer but that was only some guy on the Welfare's hotline. http://www.volunteer.ie/Social-Welfare-Requirements,104.html

    As it is I'm only fit for a desk job (back injury) and if FAS hadn't wasted all the country's money I would have gone on CE scheme but instead I'm stuck at home sat on my ass. All I know is that it's a big risk for the sake of self worth.

    I live in the north and would like to volunteer my help to any charities (especially Haitai).

    Despite being unwell enough to work I would like to offer my meagre services to any charities around to help make use of my day at my own pace.
