Shooting Forum - Firearms licencing information

    Hey folks,

    Would any businesses who wish to post in the shooting forum or the "For Sale/Wanted" section please send me a PM or reply to this thread.

    Us mods have to made a decision that businesses are welcome here if they follow the site rules. One of which is signing up with the proper type of account.

    Clearly there are advantages to both users and businesses here. Businesses have an extra avenue to interact with potential customers and users may get to benefit from special offers or knowledgeable advice from the businesses.

    We have been thrashing about some preliminary rules (not set in stone or anything) and they are as follows:

    Rules for commercial reps
    • Only mention their business/product in response to specifically relevant posts.
    • Such responses will get more leeway if they also contain useful/relevant information.
    • Offers/promotions only allowed AFTER consultation with the mods.
    • No 'spoiling' in the Wanted/For Sale forum.
    • No over-enthusiastic responding to Wanted posts.
    • Vendors who contribute constructively to the whole Shooting forum will get some leeway.

    So we are looking for anyone interested to send me or the other mods a PM.

    We will pass on the accounts to Darragh or Dav the community managers who will alter the accounts to suit.

    There will come a time soon when the only commercial interests allowed to post here will be the guys who have signed up. Obviously if you run a business and want to post away as a normal user that's fine as long as you don't try and sell anything


    There is one person interested so don't be shy the rest of you. As Conor put it "We'd love to see more firearms dealers and distributors becoming active in the boards.ie shooting community, so please stick around and get involved."

    We will leave this open for a week, maybe two and then pass on the info.
