Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Weird sound problem

    Hey guys

    I have a strange problem with my sound... When downloading/uploading on the web (pingtests, downloading, webpages....) my sound starts making static noise.

    For example when listening to music and browsing the web. Usually when I hit enter to go onto a new webpage I will hear static for about 5 seconds until the page is fully loaded.

    A reboot usually fixes this but its just one of those annoying problems.

    Anyway the specs...

    Strange one alright. USB keybaord/mouse?

    Might be worth checking that your soundcard & network card are on different IRQs from the device manager. Not usually an issue now-a-days but check it out anyway. Check PCI in the BIOS too and set all of them to auto if possible.

    I had the same problem with Vista. I spent ages trying to pin it down, thought it was interference between the Network card and the sound card, wires tangled up, dodgy connections....

    Fixed it by reverting to XP.

    Never really found out exactly what caused it.
    Never went back to Vista either.

    IRQs are fine.
    Im not on a SLI but after reading those forums people even without SLI still have the same problem...

    It only seems to happen when I put my computer in standby once I wake it up on the morning... static sound.

    Very strange... It was working fine on the exact same setup before I reformatted.

    Seems now that its not just my sound that messes up the whole pc seems to also lag when my sound is going static. Mouse movement starts to stutter and games lag also...
