I know very little about piano examinations, but I have only ever heard them described as "Grade 1 Grade 2" etc. Can anyone tell me are these Royal Irish Academy grades and does anyone know what the Royal Victoria College…

Son about to take his first piano exam - Royal Victoria College of London Grade D. I know very little about piano examinations, but I have only ever heard them described as "Grade 1 Grade 2" etc. Can anyone tell me are these Royal Irish Academy grades and does anyone know what the Royal Victoria College equivalent grades are? As I say, I don't know much about this, so I hope this is intelligible! Thanks in advance.
