Thanks, they say combo in the title and says battery and charger included in the description but there are options for batteries and charger on the page so I thought they were extra.

Further to our new years resolution to show people what we actually do we've decided to chronicle one of our projects from start to finish.

Like most of our ideas, this just came up as we found a lovely 40mm length of aluminium pipe and we wondered if we could do something cool with it.Simple or so we thought

It's a bit of a risk showing the 'warts and all' unfinished item but I'm sure lads can look past the rough to get to the cool.

Anyway, here goes;

Part 1: Concept

This is generally what we're aiming for...


In other words... An M4 with a modified body, ace stock, over 2 ft precision barrel and a pipe

Construction

Firstly, we have to heavily modify the upper m4 Body. We are using a G&G Plastic body as modifying a metal body would be nigh on impossible.

The upper body the slides into the slotted 40mm Tube like so:





Then comes design of the additional Main Body... This is fashioned from aluminium

We use this glue for assembly. It isn't cheap at €23 per tube but it sets like plastic and can be sanded, etc.



After a bit of cutting and boring of holes for the barrel, mag release, etc like these...



She's ready to be glued in place. Glue Sets in 15 minutes



And now we have the main body in place

The next step is the 'Dummy' Mag which will be permanently attached and cover the 190 Round M4/M16 Mag.



Again, this is fashioned from Aluminium and requires a lot of measuring to ensure that it fits inside the new body with room for the fake Mag covering.





Once again, this is folded up and glued.

The next step is to cover the Dummy mag with actual magazine material. For this we sacrificed a SR25 Magazine. (I know it looks rough but it wont be in the end)



The Dummy mag is permanently placed into the new main body with our serious glue.



And then we have the Main body & Dummy mag complete.

The next step is the flash hider. A slightly complicated measuring process to make it in one piece.



The trick to accurate folding is to 'score' the fold lines

Ok, so structurally we are fairly far along. Now the work starts. Finishing and prep for painting are going to take ages.



We need to sand excess glue and make sure all gaping holes are sealed.

The painting tutorial looks good so far, maybe offering a kit of recommended supplies to painting enthusiasts might be a good idea.

Also cant wait to see the rest of the rifle construction.

Yeah, had seen them but there doesn't seem to be a 6.03mm barrel for the M15A4 (363mm). Not keen on a 6.01mm barrel i'm afraid.
