    Hi,

I've got a budget of about €650 and I'm looking for a hardtail or full suspension trail bike. I'm 5' 8. Any bargains out there or any advice on what bang I should be able to get for my buck? I have the opportunity to get a trek remedy 6 for about 650 I reckon. Should I just go for it?

I have one that I got for Christmas, from the good lady of the house, just done about 6klms. http://adverts.ie/185675 it may not be what your looking for but it is new and fully loaded.
Its a 19.5" so should be ok for your size.

    Asking €350

sgriffen - thanks but is yours any better than the Trek http://www.singletracks.com/mtbreviews/Trek/Remedy-6/31.html. I think that I can get it for a lot cheaper than you are asking for yours.

macadam- thanks but I'm looking for something a little more highend. No offence.

Personally I would concentrate on getting a good hardtail for the price range you are talking about. I think you will get a much lighter, better spec'd hardtail than you would a full-sus. I suppose it does also depend on what you intend to do with the bike.

Thanks ciarsciars. I've had a hardtail but I've really liked the fullsus whenever anyone has given me a go of theirs. I'm not looking to be competitive. Just to have a bit of fun. Think I might be able to get a decent one for my budget. The Trek which I mentioned looks pretty good.

thanks trailbiker , yes the lapierre would be a better bike than the trek . it handles like a dream !(favourite thing about it) and its also a lot higher specd at the moment . it has front and rear lockable suspension for the climbs. the bike is in great condition . only reason for selling is to get a hardtail as i plan on racing . thanks shane .
