looks good crossborder, i hope to make this, just one thing...are the blind levels a little quick at 30 mins for a €300 odd buy-in event? I would have thought 40 mins would be better for the game...just a thought, good luck with this, hope its a success. :)

    Hi,

I am also playing this game and would have to agree with the above post I thought 40 mins would be fitting.

    Best of luck with it.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I've spoken to the Club regarding lengthening the clock and none of us can see a problem with that.
I think the best way to do it is 3 x 30 minute levels followed by 40 minute levels throughout the remainder of the tournament, this allows us to finish day 1 at 4am and start back at 4pm on the Saturday.
The overall clock will look something like this:

    8pm-8.30pm: 50/100
    8.30pm-9pm: 100/200
    9.00pm-9.30pm: 150/300

    9.30pm-10pm: Food Break

    10pm-10.40pm: 200/400
    10.40pm-11.20pm: 300/600
    11.20pm-12am: 400/800
    12am-12.40am: 500/1000 100 ante
    12.40am-1.20am: 600/1200 100 ante
    1.20am-2am: 800/1500 100 ante
    2am-2.40am: 1,000/2,000 200 ante
    2.40am-3.20am: 1,500/3,000 300 ante
    3.20am-4.00am: 2,000/4,000 400 ante

Play stops for the night. Chip up $100 chips, bag and tag

    Saturday at 4pm play resumes

    4pm-4.40pm: 3,000/6,000 500 ante
    4.40pm-5.20pm: 4,000/8,000 500 ante
    5.20pm-6pm: 5,000/1000 1,000 ante
    6pm-6.40pm: 6,000/12,000 1,000 ante

6.40pm-7.10pm: Food break. Chip up $500 chips

    7.10pm-7.50pm: 8,000/15,000 1,000 ante
    7.50pm-8.30pm: 10,000/20,000 2,000 ante
    8.30pm-9.10pm: 12,000/24,000 2,000 ante
    9.10pm-9.50pm: 15,000/30,000 3,000 ante
    9.50pm-10.30pm: 20,000/40,000 4,000 ante
    10.30pm-11.10pm: 25,000/50,000 5,000 ante
    11.10pm-11.50pm: 30,000/60,000 5,000 ante

Antes removed when play is 3 handed on the final table.

sounds good enough this mick, but what about 25-50 levels and 75-150??
just gives you a wee bit more play on day one as with a buy in of that size you want as much value for money, and there wont be too many playing day two if the blinds start back at 3k and 6k:eek:
    only my thought.
also and word on a super sat for this??

Well it been a 2 day event this would make sense!

I'm sure Mick will want to play down to 60-80 players on Friday night.
Dont think you can afford to add to many more levels, maybe 1 or 2 would be ok but with 60 players coming back day 2, the avg. stack will be about 100k. If the blinds are much less then 2k/4k then it'l be a struggle to end it in 2 days....
    Only my thought!

I agree with Phil on this. For the buy-in I think we should have added value.... Maybe add in the the two additional levels (25/50 + 75/150) and reduce the first four levels to 30min.

    Hold on a second

    11.40pm-12.10am: 300/600
    12.10am-12.50am: 400/800
    12.50am-1.30am: 500/1000 100 ante
    1.30am-2.10am: 600/1200 100 ante

Surely there should be a 500/1000 before the ante level otherwise it is a big jump. from 1200 a round to 2500 which is huge then.

Come on mick get it sorted.

A big jump, yes, but as there are no antes before that, the stacks shud be deep enough to compensate for this jump, so your point is moot tbh ;)

    wtf.... moot you say.

if you have chips for 20 rounds your m drops to 10 in one level. how is that moot?

Mick, thanks for responding so quickly. i guess we will see on the day.

Settle down ian, its simple math really, the average stack will be higher than it would be if the antes kicked in earlier!

I personally think this is a better way to structure a tourney, early and small antes just slow the game down..

I think we'll be well on our way to the bar/cash table Augustus by the time we have to worry about antes....

But as for the good players who will still be left in tourny, I dont think they have to worry to much, I'm sure Mick will do all he can not to let it become a crapshoot!!!

LOl. The average stack is dependent on the number of players not when the antes kick in.

You are making presumptions that the more people will be knocked out earlier if there where antes earlier. As it stands as soon as this level kicks in there will be a lot more pushing 'all in' if people are playing correctly. You are in danger of it becoming a crapshoot for a few levels because of this big jump.

Settle down ian, its simple math really, the average stack will be higher than it would be if the antes kicked in earlier!

I'd really love to know how you work this out?

Everybody settle, we can replay any levels that we feel are necessary, i personally believe that in a game where you start with $10k in chips and have the option to take your re-buy after the first hand (so effectively start with $25k) that $25/$50 and $75/$150 levels are expendable in exchange for more cost effective levels later on in the game.
Rest assured that we will replay any levels which we feel are necessary throughout the entire tournament, and if we feel it is needed we will run the $500/$1,000 level once before introducing the ante, but these changes will be made on the night and not before.
Thanks for all the feedback anyway.
    Mick

LOl. The average stack is dependent on the number of players not when the antes kick in.

god ian your in danger of being renamed podantaic pat at this rate, sure no TD can predict how many will be out correct to each blind level, this structure is good value and crap shoots hopefully not gonna take place

    Podantic lol.

I agree with Mick, the 75/150 time could have been used for the 500/1000 level later on.

Thus giving more play when needed.

NO question about the value. We would all love more time and slower blinds but that is not always possible. Had to point out the missing level though.

Hopefully i will still be in come the 500/1000/100 level lol.
