how many tickets already gone for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭Mr. Wolf

At this stage Hibernian Poker have given out 20 tickets for this event, Cootehill Harps have 120 players (between pre-booked and actual ticket holders) so we are hopeful of hitting the 200 player mark including walk ins on the night.
Capacity for the venue is 240 players, so book quick if you want in...

It all depends on the numbers Liam, i'd imagine with a field of 200 players we should be able to get the main event finished by 2/3 am on the Saturday Night/Sunday morning.
They'll all be well rested come 4pm on the Sunday for a trip to the Seasons :)

Everybody settle, we can replay any levels that we feel are necessary, i personally believe that in a game where you start with $10k in chips and have the option to take your re-buy after the first hand (so effectively start with $25k) that $25/$50 and $75/$150 levels are expendable in exchange for more cost effective levels later on in the game.
Rest assured that we will replay any levels which we feel are necessary throughout the entire tournament, and if we feel it is needed we will run the $500/$1,000 level once before introducing the ante, but these changes will be made on the night and not before.
Thanks for all the feedback anyway.

Thankfully just seen this mick as now there seems to be more value

    Hi Guys

Many thanks for all your questions regarding the Cross Border Tournament which was ran the wkend of 11th March.
Firstly let us start of by saying that myself and Adrian took on to run this fundraiser for Football club in Jan 09. We had absolutely no knowledge of poker ourselves and plodded along trying to run games.
After a couple of months we were introduced to Mick and Garry of Hib Poker and through their massive help, guidance, advice and tremendous support we finally got on the right track.
When we stated back in Nov that 126 tickets were out they were in fact made up of tickets with physical money accounted AND tickets that had been "promised" by players who said they wanted to attend our game!

After my car accident we had no choice but to re-schelude the event to our dismay. We contacted all paid ticket holders and informed them of the situation. Paid ticket holders who were not able to attend the new dates in March were given a refund.

On no account did we ever set out to mislead anyone! When we stated numbers of ticket holders right up to the Friday the night of the event we did take into account "promised" ticket holders as myself and Adrian genuinely believed these were players intending to come to the game hence the extra tables and chips that Mick brought for us. Only after registration and once the game started did it dawn on us that a "promised" ticket is not a ticket to account for unless monies have been taken.

As Mick has previously stated we can clarify we had 105 players with 97 rebuys with a prize pool of €27950. This was announced to everyone at the tournament.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support in attending our event.
We would like to say a massive thanks to Mick, Garry & their team for such a professional run tournament which has been echoed by numerous players who participated in the event that we have spoken to and who have contacted us.

On a personal note I would like to thank all the players for their understanding of the re scheluding the original dates in November due to my car accident.
I had a fantastic weekend and it was great to meet you all face to face.

Hope to see you next year and all the other years after that.

P.S. I would also like to reiterate what Mick has stated if there is anyone who holds a ticket for the event that ran in March please contact ourselves or Mick

    Lorna :)
