Hard drive setup

    Hi,
    I have just installed a new hard(second) drive in my pc. I am running on windows xp sp2 and the problem I am having is I cannot get it to appear in My computer. If I right click on my computer and go to manage, disk management, the drive appears there. However if I right click on the drive here I do not get the options to rename, format the drive etc which are available on the other drives. The only option available is help on right click.
    Can anyone tell me how I can get around this and get my new drive displayed in My computer.

    What are the specs of the drive and your computer? Is it IDE or SATA?

    What way is it set up in BIOS? Have you tried to format it outside Windows?
