Postgrad interview, essay?!

I have been given an interview for a postgrad course .... the interview consists of an individual essay and then "completion of a short essay, topic to be given at the interview".... I am really nervous about this essay as I have never done anything like this as part of an interview before.... can anyone give me any advice…
