Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Monday night games are a pain in the arse for fans and will make it even trickier for anyone planning a trip from abroad. Valencia - Getafe is the following Monday's game. There will also be a 2nd Div game on Friday nights. Not the first time we've had Monday night games by the way, Antena 3 did two seasons of it in the 90s.

Really ? The article I read a couple of weeks ago said it was the first time. Is it early, mid or late ninties you are referring to ?

    96-98 IIRC

I remember being at a Monday night Valencia-Madrid game but watching Valencia's 3-4 comeback win in the Camp Nou on telly on a Monday night is my favourite memory of the experiment. This time of course the games aren't even on terrestrial telly.

    Xerex lineup:
Renan; Redondo, Gioda, Aythami, Casado; Keita, Moreno, Carlos Calvo, Momo, Víctor Sánchez; Mario Bermejo

    Real Madrid lineup:
Casillas, Arbeloa, Garay, Ramos, Marcelo; Lass, Xabi Alonso, Granero, Kaká; Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuaín

Real up against the lowest scoring team in Europe.

No prizes for guessing the outcome.

    Interesting .
I'm pretty sure Barca played their first league match this year on a Monday night .
Looks like Perez is getting his way so with trying to move fixtures to coincide with UK kick off times.

That was under exceptional circumstances as the Uefa Super Cup final was held on the friday night so the LFP allowed them to move it to the monday otherwise Barca were going to field a highly weakened team for the Super cup.

Villarreal v Bilbao, the last 10mins were a farce, good entertainment though.

Huge match tonight; Athletico Madrid -v- Barcelona

No Alves, Abidal, Pique, Marquez, and away to Athletico always poses problems for Barcelona. This can be a massive boost for Real if Barcelona slip up (and I hope they will)

Have to say I love Espanyols new stadium.

First stadium in Spain built on an English model with fan proximity to the pitch taken into account.

New stadium I presume you mean, yes you are right, pretty mush every new ground in La Liga is a bland out of town bowl - Mallorca, Murcia, Getafe etc. Possibly the worst aspect of the new VCF ground that is/was being built is the distance between pitch and fans. APparently it is a requirement in order to acquire a top Uefa licence

haven't been to Espanyol yet, the €45 cheapest ticket (I believe) isn't encouraging me to visit either.

    Sevilla lineup:
Palop, Stankevicius, Fazio, Escudé, Adriano, Navas, Zokora, Renato, Capel, Kanouté, Luis Fabiano

    Osasuna lineup:
Ricardo, Echaide, Sergio, Flaño, Monreal, Camuñas, Puñal, Nekounam, Calleja, Masoud, Pandiani

yeah obviously referring to new stadiums. I use to live next to the Alfonso Perez and think its perfect for Getafe. Just about the right size. They cant really do anything about were it was built as Getafe is only a suburb of Madrid. The distance to the pitch aint that big but there is a man made ditch as such which I dont really like. Also the officials hut between the two dugouts should be moved because if you sit in the first several rows either side of the halfway line it blocks out your view of the opposite box.

    Ambitious accumulator tonight;
Inter Milan -2, Sevilla -1 and Athletico -1; about 380/1 so put €2.50 on it. Could be going to Disneyland

EDIT: Twat Negredo! Ah well, I have those 3 teams on an accumulator to win too

Is that the Redondo chap (cleared effort off line in second half) that played in World cup for argentina?

    No Pedro?

Good luck to young Jeffren. He'll have a tough job against Simao.

Still see a Barça win though, maybe 2-1 or 3-2

De gea seems to be justifying his No 1 spot ahead of Asenjo, have been impressed with him overall.

Haven't seen Barca's passing that sloppy for a while.

Aye, no wonder we have been discussing him for the past couple of months. Barca arent at the races though it is because of the defensive crisis. Everyone knows Barca always build from the back. It is the only way they play.
