Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    HI,
My friend has opened a new company and he is one of its directors.
He is here on a dependent VISA..
we are trying to register with VAT, PAYE and PRSI for the company.

I would like to know if there are any implications for him to apply for a work permit?

And also the is it necessary for the company to be registered with VAT since his services comes under the Fourth Schedule which applies 0% VAT.

    Thanks

Are you asking can he apply for a work permit now as he is now a director of a company?

Are really sure that your company falls into the 4th Schedule Service???
    Are you a company? Yes.....
Where are you providing your service to? What country outside Ireland?

Answer to your Q - you would be required to register for VAT, as the rules for 4th Schedule does not mean you just do not register!!

If you are a business and your are registered for VAT, you can claim input VAT on the costs you incur - Telephone, L&H, Purchases, Leasing.

Yes (he is a Director now and he wants to be recruited as an employee in his organisation. That is why he is going to apply for a work permit)
(The director must be a resident in Ireland irrespective of his/her VISA)

Does it have any statutory implications??
    Please reply
