Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

xBox 360 DVD Drive Problem

    Hi all,

    I have repaired a friend's 360 elite that was getting the 1 light error and message e71.

    Just wondering if there are any heads out there that might be able to be with a new problem I found after I solved the above issue.

    It's got a BenQ VAD6038 DVD drive. The drive itself seems to be fine but curiously it won't open or close.

    I removed the case from it and works fine opening and closing no problem. I put the case on loosely with the top a little "ajar" and it opens and closes fine. I put in a disc and closed the the casing. Then it reads discs no problem and ejects/closes without any issues either. Once there is a disc in it, the drive operates normally. However when I removed the game it went back to the old cycle of locking and not opening.

    Anyone with any knowledge of a similar problem with these drives as it's puzzling me and I have scoured online to no avail.
