Switching burner to Diesel

    Hi there

My plumber tells me that I can switch my outside Firebird burner over to Diesel with ease.

It burns hotter faster and costs less and so is a double saving.
It does require a high flue for exhaust extract

Does any have any thoughts or advice on this ?

    Thank you
    Stella

we used to burn diesel in our boiler because at the time it was a bit cheaper than kero, but we changed as the price difference became negligible and we found that kerosene burned cleaner which meant the boiler needed less servicing and was more efficient.
the changeover is fairly straightforward requiring a new nozzle and adjustment to the fuel pressure control and air intake, but I can't see any real advantage.
