Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Spurs piling on the pressure now.

Gotta agree with Slick, Bale does look to have the making of a good left winger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

i'm pretty sure Pat Dolan has the horn for Defoe.

Have to say that there are three players in the Spurs team that I would have loved to have seen in Liverpool colours.

Dawson I was hoping Liverpool would get when he was at Forest, with Huddlestone and Defoe being the other two.

    Peno for Spurs!!!!

Peno don't let defoe take it

Good goal was just about to say Palace playing some good stuff Game on

Ah Des I sent herself to work so she wouldn't interrupt:P

    bad defending there.

quite uncharacteristic for a Villa defence at a set-piece, as well as Friedel.

    1-0 Palace.

Huddlestone has turned great this year

I think he has been a good player since he first broke into the Spurs team a number of years back. Just think that he was not always managed properly or played to his strengths in the past.

A lot of what he does seems to be overlooked because he is not flashy, but he has a great ability for playing smart balls, and keeping the team ticking over, and is an excellent passer of the ball.

I see a lot of the qualities that Xabi Alonso has in Huddlestone, and given that Huddlestone has only just turned 23, he has plenty of time to develop.

Funnily enough 23 was how old Alonso was during his first season at Liverpool.

from an Irish perspective, Alan Lee is having a bit of a stormer.

and who is this Neil Danns fella? looks handy.

ha, just checked...he's 27, and was a Liverpool player at schoolboy level.

He used to sit more defensively and it just didn't seem to work, but he showed in preseason he can really move about the pitch and when he doesn't play we don't play half aswell

    1-1 Header by Collins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

    Good goal from Collins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    nice simple set-piece.

Downing has some delivery on him; and a good header by Collins.

    undeserved really, but 1-1.

Yeah when he is out, Spurs seem to be unable to switch tempos.

I'm just sitting here hoping that at some point the camera turns to a commotion in the Palace dugout, and it shows Stephane Henchoz having done a run in to clock Warnock. :)

he's a character and all, but i really can't stand the chap.

very inflated opinion of himself and his teams.

Very entertaning first half Palace have been excellent

Cannot stand him myself, and his spat with Henchoz is still fresh in my memory. Will never forget the end of that game, when a still angry Henchoz made a beeline for the dug out at the final whistle and Warnock went straight for the tunnel.

Bit like the Spurs/Bolton game in that the underdog was on top in the first half.

I wonder will there be a similar reaction in the second half from Villa as there was from Spurs.

I'd say so O'Neill will want a lot more in the second half and Villa hardly ever conceed once let alone twice

goalkeeper should be stopping that every day of the week. great hit none the less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,519 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Setanta commentators are awful.

Delfonso clearly onside there but Lou Macari and co called it incorrectly before the replay so there is no correction.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

2-2 Petrov. Just after the ball had hit the keeper's head and stayed out in the previous attack.

I am really starting to miss FA Cup runs by the way. We better do alot better next season.
