Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Firstly is there really an advantage of splashing out extra on a lens with Image Stabilization?? I want to invest in a zoom lens and dont know whether to get Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 APO DG Macro lens or a canon EF-S 55-250MM F/4-5.6 IS Lens.... the sigma is coming in at around 130e on pixmania whereas the canon is coming in at 230e on the same site!
Id be mostly using the lens for landscape and family events/holidays etc!
whats yer opinions on this or could ye recommend something better!!

    Thanks :D

You don't really need a long lens for landscapes but I would opt for the Canon lens over the Sigma if I had to make the choice.

I've only bought one sigma lens and I returned it only a few days later, and tbh probably won't ever buy another Sigma brand again.

I've the 55-250mm IS lens and it's worth the extra cash. I don't really use it though and will be selling it off soon enough, if you're interested drop me a pm.

I have the sigma your on about, its ok like nothing to write home about ! Save your cash for some L glass. TBH Stick a 50mm prime on your camera alot more fun + it forces you to zoom with your legs ! 50mm isnt bad for landscapes either.

I have the 55-250 and think its an excellent lens. Light, sharp and IS is good to have. Definatley this Canon over the Sigma.
