Hi to all, I'm a volunteer teacher in Thailand and the folks on this board gave us some help teaching this song a few months back.:)

Pete St. John's song, hope you enjoy our version. Long song, it took some learning!

Thats brilliant! :) Fair play to the kids learning all the words. You would be doing very well to get 80 Irish kids in one room to do that.

Ronnie and Luke would be proud!

We're working on ' Come my little son' this week. The kids now have 'the ear' for Luke Kelly.

Thanks for the comments, I always show them to the students.

That's great. You should come back over here and teach our kids the songs :pac:

I challenge you to try Rocky Road to Dublin ;)

Hi WindSock, now that one is a challenge, but I reckon we could do it.

We are working on these songs at the moment:

Grace, Shanagolden, Black Velvet Band, Clare to Here and Nancy Spain. Plus my favourite, The Foggy Dew.;)

Rare auld Times sung at outside at the local market in Thailand.

I do sometimes wonder if these great ballads will one day be lost forever.

I've seen this great ballad sung in French.
Here Thai school children are singing it in their native tongue.:)
