    Info on the site: Link
It has come to our attention that a number of fraudulent (phishing) emails are being circulated purporting to be from Halifax.
    Details:

    1. The email may be sent from "Halifax@confirmation.ie" or “Halifax Bank Plc”
    2. The email may claim that there has been a security breach and ask customers to log into their Halifax online banking to confirm their banking details.

THESE EMAILS ARE NOT FROM HALIFAX!
They are a fraudulent attempt to acquire your Halifax online banking details.

There may be other phishing emails in circulation so please remember:

    * Halifax will NEVER send you an email asking you to verify any of your banking details.
    * Halifax will NEVER send you an email asking you to log in to our online banking service.
    * An email from Halifax will NEVER contain a link to our online banking login page.

If you have received one of these emails you should follow these steps:

    * DO forward the email to cfu@halifax.ie.
    * DO delete the email once you have sent it to us.
    * DO contact us immediately if you are concerned that you may have provided information to a fraudulent site or if you are concerned that your account has been compromised in any way.

    * DO NOT click any buttons or links in the email.
    * DO NOT open or download any attachments.
    * DO NOT enter any details.
