Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

HP Laptop power issue

    Ok,
    GF got a laptop off her granddad for me to have a look at.

    HP DV-4000, Charged it up and powered on.
    It stayed on for about 4-6 seconds than went dead.
    Then I could here this small buzzing noise from inside the laptop.

    After charging a little longer I removed the power supply and started it on battery, got in fine, ran windows update, rebooted and then again after a few minutes it went dead with the buzzing noise.

    Now its an old enough laptop, well out of warranty so no chance of sending it back.

    Anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this?
