We should get a party going where all of us have sentry guns on say Highrise and place them everywhere and spawn trap the hell out of the enemy :pac:

Now something like that on wasteland would be legendary fun, very little cover and the back up of the mounted guns too lol that'd be head wrecking for the opposition! :D

Woo Hoo I went 39-0-4 on Skidrow on Monday with the Aug Bar. Hadn't used it much before but will give it more attention now!

Would dotting them around the map not have been more effective? That one cold blooded guy took all three at once? If they were dotted round the map over looking each other they would provide cover for each other while coving more of the map and if the cold blooded guy was to knife one he still has to make it past a lot of ground to get another?
A sentry on the elevator building with the gas tank, one on the yellow walkway suspended from the crane beside it adn one on the helipad would dominate the entire map on consideration your team maps didnt puch into their spawn flipping it the wrong way.... which most dopey ass team mates end up doing anyway.

Ah I just wanted to see what would happen :D, Highrise is a great map for sentry guns though, and yeah I agree about dope teammates wrecking the spawns, stop running around like headless chickens! especially on Domination, theres a bloody reason we're allowing them to keep 1 flag, stop trying to cap the thing!

    Played 2 1/2 games yesterday - MTDM
Joined Carnival late - shot down 2 Pavelows and a harrier 2 assists
Terminal - shot down a heli through a skylight 4 assists
Salvage - shot down 2 choppergunners and killed a guy with a laptop (CG) 4 assists

    We won 2-1 Go teamplayer
Other team just got lucky with CPs and an emergency air drop from what I could tell.

Just discovered the joys of a rushing class paired with a shotgun. Just sprint to somewhere they wouldn't expect you to be, and then bam, mow down half of them with your spas or 1887s :P

Just unlocked 1887s akimbo this weekend haven't used them yet. Getting 10 kills was just painful. Using other shotgums makes you realise how good the spas is.
Other thing I was struggling on was close kills with scrambler. Trying for 250 for emblem. Rust came up in a tdm, equipped P90 problem solved:). Wish Rust came up more often.

Just hopped on their for 3 games of S&D. Went 9-1 and everyone was calling me a try-hard, ump + akimbo 1887s so fair enough, so in the next 2 games i decided to switch classes every round and mixed them up between the games. went 12-2 and 12-1 and they were still calling me a try-hard, gotta love sore losers :P

Nothing makes me smile more than practically boosting off of boosters.
Double kill, then 1 TI kill. They return, double kill, then 1 TI kill. Then they return again for a revenge kill. Got to harriers off of the same 2 guys ;)

I got something similar off a guy who was using a TI in TDM (but not boosting or anything) in Invasion.
Had Sit Rep Pro on and am heading towards a TI in the bookshop near B, BAM shotgun a guy and TI disappears. And I can hear him laying his TI down in the back of the shop again and he heads back for revenge and BAM, kill him again. And so he respawns and laid down his TI, BAM kill and leg it into the shop, BAM as he respawns. :D

I mostly play TDM/TDME/Dom, I'd say TDM or HCTDM is the way to go. Obviously you can see them with SR but some parts of some maps are always worth a patrol as they are much more likely to throw up claymores than others. Most of this will probably be obvious enough to you already.

Rundown: the sniper hut at C Dom or the building at A Dom.
Derail: Centre office building, always a few claymores down at the 2 entrances.
Skidrow: Stairs looking into B Dom in centre building, first floor office near C Dom
Invasion: All over B Dom! In the long shop next to B, in the shop next to B, in the broken building by B, Sniper Hut across from the broken building.
Afghan: Usually one or two around the large bunker.
Favela: Banana Plant room, the ice-cream shop at B Dom.
Highrise: Just on the stairs into the 2 spawns.
Karachi: The perch over B Dom usually has a claymore on the stairs.
Quarry: Warehouse at the high spawn.
Subbase: Generator/Server room, usually one or two on the stairs or the entrance from the central courtyard.
Terminal: Entrances to the plane, esp. from A Dom.

Otherwise you'll find them scattered around a bit but the above are, IMO, the best places to hit on the best maps for SRP.

Alternatively, you could, in the lobby, before the game starts, plead with the other side not to put claymores down ;)

I had one of my nicest ever game winning killcams this week. I was running around Quarry with the MG4 (awful weapon, I was doing the perks) heading towards the spawning area of the opposing team. On my way there I ran out of ammo so I huddled under the metal stairs by one of the big tanks. While I was reloading the MG4 I saw one of the enemy climbing along the slabs of rock to my left. While still reloading I took out my akimbo G18s and killed the guy for the game winning kill.

It was pretty sweet to see I was reloading the MG4, spotted the guy, came up behind him and let rip with the G18s.

Had my highest amount of kills in a TDM last night. Managed to go 41-3 somehow, i had the nuke turned on though, wondering how high i could have gone if I had a pavelow turned on instead :P. Also, one of my deaths was a suicide because I dropped my harriers on myself lol :o

Awwwe. MG4's not bad. Grip/Acog or just plain grip. No recoil. Thermal works surprisingly well with it. It's no RPD but I still like it.

Ross was just one short of SRP and before the game he pleaded with the opposition side not to use claymore as he hated them. Needless to say, he got SRP on that level - and some poor noob on the other team kept warning his team to put them down for the next 2 rounds.

I've not tried thermal with it yet but I find that it has incredibly low damage. You have to pump loads of shots into someone before you kill them. The RPD can't be beaten on the right maps at mid to long range and the Steyr is excellent for close to medium range.

I'll give the MG4 a go every now and again but I really haven't warmed to it.

Finally completed single player on veteran. It was surprisingly quite easy for the most part. I remember I quit in the past because of having to play Loose Ends(the one on Estate where you have to download some thing-ama-jig and the Estate is under siege as you wait for the download to complete). That bit running down the hill drove me at the end drove me insane in the past, it did again this time too but after 20 goes I finally did it. You really need to get lucky in that last part.

I think there are one or two other bits that were difficult, boarding the sub on Contingency in 2 minutes springs to mind but other than that it was enjoyable unlike COD4 veteran what with the enemies lashing nades every 10 seconds

Now for Spec Ops, again(did it on my other profile). Then comes my platinum. I go trophy hunting around this time of the year before a COD game comes out :D:o

Yeah that was the only part that gave me trouble , i even restarted the whole level at one stage , then just legged it down the left side and got away with it.

I'm a very stubborn person :pac:.

The download itself takes forever and it was 4am so yeah I just cba'ed restarting again. Shattered is an understatement but I was so determined to complete it earlier.

I was stuck on the very last checkpoint, the last 100-150m or so left with 3 guys aiming at me on my right, mortar fire coming over my shoulder and 20 guys in that last stretch in front of me. One of those 3 things were always catching me out. 3/4's of the time I made literally a step or two before being blown apart.

I just got lucky at the start and then starting lashing my flashbangs as I was legging it down the hill.

Was very relieved to get that out of the way to say the least.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭Cossax

First time I did that level I ran too far ahead of Ghost and got blown away every time. :(

Had to restart the level and stick closer to him next time, worked out well enough then - there are just too many otherwise.

Wont be getting black ops till the end of november so at least I have MW2 to keep me going.

I generally hated the L86 LSW but while doing the weapon challenges I used the SUSAT sight for it- it's amazing. It has a massive viewing area and with controlled firing it's pretty lethal at long range. I've been using it a lot on Estate and racking up decent scores.

So what I thought was a generally crap weapon has been redeemed somewhat with this sight. If you haven't tried it- give it a go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

I couldn't use that SUSAT sight! Don't know what it is but I have some kind of mental deficiency using it. That said the LSW is pretty awesome in certain situations. Still prefer the RPD or AUG though.

Oh I agree, the RPD is my preferred LMG with the Aug second but the L86 with the SUSAT is pretty amazing at long range.

Twas dead chuffed last night :)

Went back to MW2 for a few games the last 2 nights, really came across the good and the back of the game - soundwhoring, the looks and sounds of the guns and the maps, the less massive maps, the lack of RC cars, the slightly better spawn system.
Also unlocked myself a nice new symbol.
