Wonder how this will pan out?

My guess is that Batista will make a run in and attack Cena after the match?

so 2 of the 4 matches tonight were no contests?

If i was in that audience i would be demanding my money back!

And as horrible as it is, the seamus run in got absolutely no reaction from the crowd.

On the plus side, that boot never ceases to amaze me!

Cant believe a Raw that had so much potential was such a let down

I would have liked to see better finishes but it was an OK show let down by an atrocious segment involving Jerry Springer.

I thought Sheamus got an alright reaction near the end though and showed impressive strength to do a Razor's Edge on Hunter.

If you see it again, you can see him struggling for a moment before launching him over, looked relieved just after he drops.

My thoughts on the Bret stuff:

    - I didn't think his interview was very good, although still effective. He was a little all over the place but fortunately the crowd were really, really into him. So while I didn't think it was a success, it was just about ok.

    - Did the WWE make up forget to do Bret or something?

    - The car angle with Bret was horrible WWE storyline trash and completely unnecessary for something that had been building great.

I don't believe it was to write him out of the story. It could be a way for them to explain why he's not as mobile as the Hitman of old but they could have done it a million other ways. I had to fast forward, it was so hard to watch.

As for Springer, I think their aim was for it to be a car crash segment and they succeeded. It was a long car crash though.

    overall a horrible show

I have to say Santino's line about Grandmaster Sexay being a screw-up nearly made me fall out of my chair. That Springer segment really was a giant waste of time with a PPV this Sunday.

That was one of the worst go-home shows in memory.

What started off pretty promising just died the second Bret left the ring. If Bret doesn't wrestle at Mania, that's fine, but why the hell are they doing an almost bait and switch on the whole thing. Why tease him wrestling (challenging McMahon) to take it away? (if this is the direction they're going in)

Having Bret in Cena's corner will draw 0 extra buys and to be honest, I wouldn't even be that bothered about having to watch it. Either have him in a match with Vince, or quit all this crap. I'd be happy if he came out last month, said thanks and that he can't wrestle anymore, but this shlock to try to explain why he might not be able to wrestle is horsesh!t. The hardcore Bret fans would "get" that he can't wrestle if they just out and said it. If this does lead to a match, I take it all back, but just knowing WWE Creative they're going to blow it.

And the rest of the show, having a camera outside to catch Batista coming in every 20 mins, then to have him five minutes later on an a prepared uplink? Just moronic.

The Springer segment was difficult to watch. I mean who can honestly say they enjoyed that more than they would have enjoyed a decent match given time.

I watched Impact! which I taped last Saturday and it was much easier on the eye. Some promos were a bit 90s but it was still fun. I didn't get that fun feeling at all out of Raw.

all im saying is his return is WAY over hyped and people are expecting way too much from him. he was beating up by a sound mixer last week after all. dont get me wrong loved the guy back in the 90's but now expecting him to fight............................. yea right he cant even take a slap to the face so i think a fight is a bit outta reach

There's a difference between pointing out that he isn't a prime athlete anymore and just plain disrespecting him and making a tit out of yourself. Learn the difference.

WTF,?? Of course Vince and Bret are going to wrestle at mania its a god giving certinty, but they need something to fill the next six raws, its not good business to announce a match for a ppv when you are still trying to sell the one before it..

How is it a God given certainty??? Have you any knowledge of Bret's phyiscal condition? From what I've heard, they're still bouncing between a Bret v Vince match (which Vince is pushing for, but Bret is not sold on due to his condition) or Cena/Bret v Batista/Vince or Cena w/Bret v Batista w/Vince.

If Bret takes one bad shot to the head he's in serious trouble, so it's not exactly a dead set that Bret is 100% phyiscally and mentally able for a brawl or a match.

Six Raws isn't that long to fill a programme for Wrestlemania, its just that WWE have programmed its fans of today to think that anything over 3 weeks is a massively long time for a programme. I doubt it's that hard to come up with "something to fill 6 Raws"

I've no problem with them having to write Bret out of the storyline to build the feud up.

But having a woman reverse her car into his leg isn't the way I would have done it.

Thats exactly what i do, think it only took 15 mins to watch this week. :)

Raw was pretty bad this week.

That Jerry Springer segment went on for 14 minutes, not including ad breaks.

That is an absolutely terrible waste of time on the last show before a PPV.

The Bret segment was pretty poor too, especially the way they were making his leg being caught in a car door briefly to be almost life threatening.

To top it all off the main event was a very poor match between HHH and Cena (which is very strange as they've both worked with each other so often) that ended in a run in DQ finish.

In saying all that, it still wasn't as bad as any episode of Impact all year, though TNA's recent PPV was quite good (except for the Nasty Boys) and EC will have to be very good to better it.

I automatically assumed it was just another McMahon screwjob especially when the annoucement of 'security camera' footage but I quite like the idea I read elsewhere that the wounded leg is just a stunt by Hart/Cena to bait McMahon into making a WM match with a cripple.

The Springer segment suffered from being cluttered and too long. The only way it could have been more tedious would be to have declared that Kid Rock would be playing the segment out. ;)

And from the way it's set up, looks like Sheamus is walking into WM as champion . Or Triple H is taking it and Sheamus gets his rematch at WM... Not really a prospect to look forward to for me.

Unless such a match goes out last then HBK comes out and uses a MitB briefcase to call out the Undertaker for a title shot there and then. I guess I could take a Sheamus/Edge WM match that way. I'd be moaning until that happened though. :pac:

i agree that the "bret/vince in the corners" idea wont get any extra buys i still think its the most likely option!

the tag match i would HATE to see happen, because at one stage or another that means that bret will have to get in the ring with botchtista, and that is a serious appetitie for destruction! Way too risky, and if they took it easy it would just look sh!t.....(so i typical batista match then!! WAY----OAH)

Now this is an idea that intrigues me, it would be a very clever angle, (Loike OMG, bret wont be able to apply the sharpshooter), it would allow any kind of match to be slower and more precise (or more of an on the ground fight rather than a match), and it will allow bret to have screwed vince, AND it would explain how somone could be so retardedly stupid to sit there with her reverse lights on with a limo behind her....THEN continue to f*ckin reverse! This idea makes sence......which is why it will never happen! :p

    Ok hold up.

Trips going over 9 times out of 10 is a god givin certainty.
Taker and HBK taking breaks after mania is a god given certainty.
Someone returning at RR can near guarantee their win... is a god given certainty.

But Bret having had a stroke, and physical restrictions could gauge that its more likely that he wont have a match.
I'd say in the context of yes, they will be involved in a match in some capacity, maybe mirroring the WM23 Trump v McMahon.

One thing i really want to see is Bret putting Vince in the sharpshooter.
That would be fitting but i hope Vince's ego doesnt ruin that.

Yeah but 99% of the time he is not funny. I can't stand him, that line was the only funny thing he has ever said, I am all for the comic gimmick (Well not really actually) but they have to be funny.

I disagree, he's probably the funniest thing on WWE at the moment, but thats purely because WWE lacks any sort of humour. The last time WWE was ACTUALLY funny (in my opinion) was around the time Stone Cold was on guitar and Angle was a cowboy. The only reason Santino comes off as hilarious is because the rest of the show is depressingly unfunny.

The only genuinely funny moment of WWE in the last 6 months was Dusty Rhodes/HBK/HHH in a backstage segment.

If wwe pulled that skit now it would be putdown as cringeworthy. Fair play to you for mentioning this as i used this as a point a while back and was told it never happened.

Plenty of humour still on wwe just now. The characters are just not strong enough to pull it off.

Never really enjoyed Raw this week. Way down on the last few offerings.

To add to the storyline on what happened with Bret Hart on Raw this past Monday night, WWE.com is reporting that Bret suffered a "broken left leg in addition to ligament and tendon damage". For those who missed Raw, Bret was involved in a car accident which resulted in him being taken away in an ambulance.

Also, this week's Raw did a 3.4 in the ratings

If WWE run with a "Bret's got a broken leg, therefore for this reason he can't fight at Wrestlemania", I swear I will permanently turn off the lights on watching WWE TV. It would be an absolutley moronic move on their part.

In fairness it was a completely moronic move to do the car injury thing in the first place. The main appeal and selling point of the angle was it's realism but Vince couldn't help but make it another hokey, over-the-top wrestling angle.

Completely agree. I mean this was the most "real" angle they've done in years, this is an angle that has over a decade of history to it, and they're denegrating it into this muck. Eugh.
