Really looking forward to this fight Wandai didnt look like he had trouble making weight. Kenny Florian was saying on MMA live the other night that the weight cut would be a big factor for him.Wandi doesnt like Bisping anyway!

reading on Sherdog that rumours are going around from reliable sources that Cain Velasquez is going into the fight with a neck injury...

I had Nog via Guillotine choke anyways :)

Generally speaking the reasons rumours are rumours is that the sources are not all that reliable. :)

Would be very surprised to see Cain take this fight. No doubt he has a good record against the guys he has fought....but taking on Nog is one hell of a step up for him.

One thing i will say after watching the Countdown is that he seems to be both realistic and well prepared heading into the fight. He knows a single mistake is the end of his night...so this should be interesting.

I think I heard on ESPN last night that they are showing pre-lims from 2am(Lytle & Dolloway fights?), but any tv scheldule I can see has countdown show starting at 2am.

Wouldn't be the 1st time this has happened *fingers crossed*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 976 ✭✭✭supremenovice

Nog has been in the ring with the very best..therefore he has been beaten up too many times and cant handle a mauling anymore.
Which is what Velasquez will give him tonight.
Theres a new Nog in town anyway...LITTLE NOG!!!

    Selections:
    Velasquez
    Bisping
    Jardine
    Stevenson
    Perosh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭sonic.trip

see bisping gave wandi the finger before he got on the scales, going to ge a great fight and hope bisping gets knocked out :p

@supremenovice you think perosh will beat Cro Cop? betfair had him @ 1/50 to win yesterday, 2/11 now

@devastator would be great to see the prelims, ESPN has countdown show at 2am but heres hoping!

When is this on? If the PPV starts at 3 am that means the show starts at midday on a Sunday morning in Australia as Australia is 9 hours ahead. That cannot be right can it? Or is it tape delay?

    Its correct.

UFC would have no reason to put it on primetime(for Austrailia) as the time difference wouldn't suit the majority of their fan base.

Sucks if you're an Australian. Someone from Darwin would have to stay the night before and the night after due to the bad time its on at. If it was an orthodox time over there someone would just have to stay 1 night following the event. Would Australian telly show MMA at 12 in the day? Probably not, so Australians wont get to see it live. I'd be pretty mad if I was an Aussie with the UFC changing the time the show is on to suit US TV, particularly when the UFC dont change the time its on at when the UFC is in Europe.

I'd imagine that they're more pleased with actually getting a UFC event than annoyed at it beginning at midday

And if they were to do a similar thing in Europe it would mean beginning shows at 1 or 2am, which they can't do

No live prelim fights are airing

    im going with..

    velasquez
    bisping
    stevenson
    bader
    cro cop
    lytle
    soszynski
    cb dolloway
    te huna.

i think velasquez by decision and bisping 2nd round tko.

my main bets is velasq+krystop sozy...
accum velasq kryst silva sotirop reljic

and a small double bisb on poinst and velas on points 5/2+9/4

think if velasq wins itll be on points so thats looks value to me.
better men have tried and failed to finish nog

Agree about Cain on points, but I think Wand will knock out Bisping. I like Bisping but think the axe murderer will be too big and will catch him with a big punch. Bisping has been but suspect in past with taking punchs and getting knocked down.

this is my acc for night - Wanderlei Silva , Joe Stevenson , C. B. Dollaway , Krzysztof Soszynski

Reckon also Bader to win on points 5/2

I think silva knocking out bisbing will be a lot of
    peoples prediction.
I just dont think myself bisbing will be knocked out
and have a sneaking feeling he will pull it off.
In the long term i think the way hendo disposed of him
will be a good thing and ill stick my neck out and say
i dont see silva knocking him out.
If it were at a higher weight however id be thinking otherwise.
I dont see him going toe to toe with silva however.
It might sound like garbage given wandy pushed franklin close
and if it were franklin v bisbing id bet the house on franklin.
Im thinking at the weights there wont be much in it.

just a little bit tempted with sotiroupolous on poinst at 7/1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

well, doesnt look like we're getting the prelims as MMA live is on now, so probably follow scheldule and have countdown show on from 2 :(

Even after obvious mistakes against hendo, Bisping went out against Kang and took a big punch which put him on his arse very early in 1st round. I just think silva is used to fighting bigger guys. Lets hope its a good fight anyway!

I think its a huge fight for bisbing
if he loses, whats next for him?
i think theres an awful lot at stake for him.
I think this will be an exciting fight with wandy
pushing the pace and bisbing trying to stick and
    use his speed.
wandy will still be there regardless.
there'll always be a spot for silva the way
    he fights.

its bolix not having some of the prelims on especially when u have bets done.
ill have watched the main fights and then i have to go and look for result of
the bonner/kryst fight which will mean a one second sweat.
Love watching these fights even more when theres a few quid
    resting on it.

aye I know what you mean, but depending on how the live fights go they may show 1 or 2 pre lims during the night.

I especially hate it when bookies stop taking bets early on pre lims.....not like few months back when an online bookie was still offering odds on pre lims that had already finished :D I enjoyed that night even more ..... no sweat whatsoever :p

James Te Huna def. Igor Pokrajac via TKO, round 3 (strikes): Heavy.com blogger Te Huna wins his UFC debut via ground and pound, much to the delight of the electric Australian crowd.

Everytime I see Nog fight I want him to lock on an anaconda choke like he did against Herring in the Pride Heavyweight Grand Prix.

I reckon Velasquez might just be inexperienced enough for Nog to get one on him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

    2nd pre lim
CB Dollaway def. Goran Reljic via unanimous decision

actually this is a better link http://www.mmafighting.com/2010/02/20/ufc-110-results-live-updates-nogueira-vs-velasquez-more/

matie, wish I had more money at the time

Only got about £15 on a single, the site in question wouldn't let me do a double with the 2 known results....which made me think they knew the fights were already on so I sh.t out of it with a small bet as a tester.

I keep a very keen eye now on all times listed for pre lims in hope that 1 day I will have that chance again :D

Chris Lytle def. Brian Foster via first-round submission (kneebar)

Krzysztof Soszynski def. Stephan Bonnar via TKO due to a cut stoppage at 1:04 of Round 3.

Regardless of how you scored the fight I cant help but think judges will give George the hometown decision given the crowd's reaction to him.

surely he has to get a title shot now? winner of lesnar v mir/carwin?
or just bypass mir/carwin and go straight to lesnar!!
either way he is now officially the no.2/3 guy at hw in ufc.

    Poor

Do we have to keep the spoilers thing up or can we just talk freely yet?

DELIGHTED for sotiropolous. He was given no chance before the fight i knew he would win ( " Knew " maybe not be correct. I really really really was behind him :P ). Nog wow that's a bit of an upset alright. Had wand to win by TKO at 11/8 and was shouting when bisping went down only for the bell.

Still 4/1 on george and a great UFC card!
