    Hi,
Does anyone know any church services on the east side of the city where I could get ashes tomorrow evening? Mervue, Ballybane, Doughiska area preferably.
    Thanks

Nothing in Doughiska in the evening.

You might have to ring the others and ask, either there's a real shortage of church websites on that side of town, or they're doing a fine job of hiding from Google.

List of phone numbers here: http://www.galwaydiocese.ie/#

There's mass at 7:30 in renmore church every evening. You'd get them there.

They will give them out at all masses tomorrow.Check the "parishes" section on http://www.galwaydiocese.ie/ and it will give mass times for every church in Galway city &county.

    Hiya,
They'll be handing out Ashes at each Mass in every Church in Galway tomorrow. You have a good selection from Sacred Heart, Westside at 10:30, the Cathedral at 9:00, 11:00 and 18:00, the Abbey at about 16:00 I think, St. Joseph's at 10:30. The Cathedral is your best chance, and they leave a sample of it at the main entrance as well for those who couldn't make Mass. However, Ash Wednesday is a good day to get Mass as it gives you that start you need to fight temptation for all those things you'll be giving up.

Also, don't forget that no meat tomorrow!
