3 Month Holiday in Australia and New Zealand?

Im looking to go traveling for about 3 months next spring, thinking of covering oz for two months and new zealand for one. would 3 months be enough time and if its coming into winter over there would that make a big difference or would the weather still be good enough in both places... Thanks! :)

It may sound like a stupid question but what do want to do and what to you want to see? If its snow and moutains then do your 3 months in NZ, if its beachs and surf then stick to OZ especially the upper east cost as its winter
