Hi, i'm thinking of going to galway (conamarra) for a long weekend and was wondering if there is any log cabins to rent in a nice remote area?

Where is the best place to visit in conamara.

    thanks

A little off topic perhaps and no help at all but we're planning on buiding a couple. We're still some years away though.

Best place to visit? Thats hard to say. Its small enough that if you spend a few weeks you'll get to know it. And it depends on what interests you.

if your going for just a long weekend id recommend the Renvyle area. its absolutely beautiful. Theres b&bs hostels and hotels there. dunno about log cabins though.. and Clifden town is only a 20 min drive away.

Yes, hopefuly we can entice you back in a few years.

The planning regulations are the main stumbling block, any structure that a human may spend a night in is subject to the scrutiny of the county council.

For what you're after take a look at this place, although i dont think they have cottages.

They aren't log cabins, but they are supposed to be nice, and located in a beautiful, remote valley near Maam. Not too far from Leenane, so there's the option of using Killary Adventure Centre facilities, and no shortage of mountains outside the front door.
I've never stayed there, and have nothing to do with them, but have heard that it's a really secluded spot.
