    - The format of NXT season 2 will see the fans and the Pros both getting 50% of the votes that decide who stays and who goes each week. As noted before, season 2 begins next week and will be shorter than the first season.

Jesus, it's hardly a sustainable idea, by the rate they are going they will have double figures in regards to seasons by the time the year's out.

I think the Low Ki / Kaval thing could work out ok. Obviously it would suck if they were to having to give him advice and **** but what about if they basically just unleash him as this killing machine esque character. Have them more as managers and talkers (just realised they both kind of suck at that) and the guy at least has a chance.

For the overreaction of the internet it would be awesome.:pac::pac::pac:

I haven't a clue where they will go with this partnership. Well played WWE. :)

Oh and Layla is a pretty good mic worker, girl has tons of charisma.

They need to do an angle where McGillicutty has horrible BO, so they can give him the nickname McGillicutty Reeks.:pac:

Finally we get to see Low Ki on WWE TV.

Alex Riley looks real good. From what I've seen he's as good as The Miz on the mic (some guys who watch FCW often are saying he's even better and will outshine The Miz), is pretty big and athletic, the full package. He'll probably win.

Lucky Cannon will probably do well too depending on what this story is they're giving him (porn star past probably by the sounds of his name). Big guy, good look, ok in the ring, greatest mentor of the season and appears to be a naturally likeable guy. If Heath Slater can do decently well as a face despite being so bloody hateable then this guy should do even better.

    Kaval isn't too shabby either.

Ya, they must have FCW fairly cleaned out at this stage?

Still I suppose the first season gave Barrett a good platform to kick on from and it has set Danielson up nicely too.

They seem to like Otunga but I think he's way too green. I can see Gabriel ending up on SmackDown, possibly in a team with Hardy initially.

The rest should be sent back to FCW for another 6 months at least.

Licking my lips right now thinking of a future PPV match between these two. :P

Miz's rookie is very much like Miz himself which might cost him saying that I think he could be there until the end

The rookie's names sound like porn star names :D

    Yep it is.

At the risk of sounding like a total fanboy, he does a decent job. No Jesse Ventura or even Dusty 'did-ya-see-the-bajooby-mooby-move-gonna-shake-him-up-somthing-terrible-I-say' Rhodes, but not as cookie cutter bland as the current crop of announcers.

First the NXT Season 1 rookies invade Raw, now they've invaded FCW

    Source
The main event was announced as Miz and Bryan vs Christian and Slater. Miz's music played but no one came out. Christian's music from like 2 years ago played, christian came out alone and made fun of the music collection. Christian talked about what happened on raw, a very loud Cena Sucks chant starts. Christian called out Slater and told him to explain it to his face. Slater said how he started off 4 and 0 and everything was great, but he wouldnt give him the answers he wanted anymore and they finished 4th.

Bryan runs in and attacks Christian from behind. Miz runs in afterward and together they fight off the rookies. Miz says lets do pros vs rookies. Christian says you want to make a statement? Statements have consequences, so come in so we can beat the consequences into you. Miz says lets do it because they are the WWE pros, and they are AWESOME. Miz pulls off his shirt and the girls started cheering, Christian grabs miz's shirt, puts it on and takes it off and was disappointed when no girls cheered for him.

Christian and Slater start off. Eventually Miz gets in and is going full babyface. Eventually Bryan gets in who is going full danielson heel. Yelling best in the world, telling the ref he has till 5, and yelling at Miz "YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE THE PRO!" Lots of smarks cheering for Dragon. Eventually miz and christian have the rookies ready for the finishers at the same time, and oh sh!t ALL of the season one rookies show up! They get in the ring and beat the s**t out of Miz and Christian and start tearing apart the ring again! Bryan kicks Miz in the head and Slater hits the killswitch on christian. The rookies leave the pros in a heap.

Not that I want to defend that name, but it could easily be explained that McGillicutty is his mother's name.

i havent watched any of the 2nd season so far is it any good?

1st episode - all the rookies got beaten up
2nd episode - they all made up and (thank God there's spoilers in the heading) Cody hit Striker which led to him "falling" off the stage

    The Rookies:

Alex Riley - I really like him. Arrogant and cocky. Goes well with Miz as his pro. Definite contender to win
Eli Cottonwood - Incase you don't know, he's very tall. Haven't seen much in ring work from him so can't really comment on him.
Husky Harris - Interesting to see where he goes with Cody as his pro.
Kaval - As with Danielson, they could treat him like dirt (0-10 anyone) but he had a very good match with Riley this week. He should win this
Lucky Cannon - Again, another 1 who I surprising like. He seems to be over with the crowd and his in-ring work ain't bad
Michael McGillicutty - THE worst name in wrestling history. With Kofi as his pro, Mr Perfect Jr should at least get into the last 3
Percy Watson - Hate him. Look's absolutely lost in the ring. Hope he goes first
Titus O'Neil- NXT's version of Ezekiel Jackson. Big guy but with Zach Ryder as his pro, that'll bring him down imo.

Husky Harris is awesome, he doesn't have the look to do well in the E, but he is going to be great fun to watch. Reminds me of Murdoch.

Why is Barrett so involved in this NXT invasion thing.

His character would be a loner and in it for himself kinda guy, imo from what I have seen of him, so why is he leading them? He has a contract, doesn't he? As a result of winning NXT?

I have heard there is plans to have him main event vs Cena at a PPV in the not too distant future - so maybe it will turn out he is just using the NXT guys to his advantage - can't think of any 'nice' reason for him to be helping or leading them.

    - There's a feeling among some that a returning Triple H will be the one to save WWE from the NXT Rookies.

Oh please, no. The last thing we need is SuperHunter back destroying one of the most exciting angles in ages.

Since they are all hired now the invasion angle is over with

I am curious as to who the new gm that hired them is, Striker, Cole, Vinny Mac, Heyman, Danielson I know some longshots :p

HHH has a feud already set up for his return with Sheamus plus Sheamus has the title and you know Hunter will want another reign  but I would agree having a heel HHH as the leader isnt a bad storyline I still would prefer Jericho as the leader

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,153 ✭✭✭Jolt2007

They should just leave Wade Barrett as leader. It'd help establish him as a top dog and he's been performing fantastically in the role so far. Having another wrestler take over would undermine the group imo.

    This.

They have a ****ing superstar with Wade and he doesn't anyone else to come in and steal his thunder. If they must have someone else on board then please be JBL. :(

HHH saving WWE from the NXT guys would just be a joke. Much better if HHH returns, crowd goes wild, and NXT guys run down and beat him up. In fact, even better if they brought him back next week, have the NXT guys beat him up, then leave him off tv for another few months

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,153 ✭✭✭Jolt2007

I'm gonna go out on a limb here... Alex Riley will end up not just being a main eventer, but a top level one equal to Cena and Orton. There, I've said it! :pac:

    Concerning last night's NXT:
You know I wouldn't be surprised if Kaval becomes yet another "internet darling" to go on a losing streak on NXT. I know the guy has to do what he's told but I'm sure a feeling of "WTF is happening here?" came over him when he put on that property of Laycool t-shirt.

the point of Nxt is to give the guys exposure and and get them in the minds of the wrestling fans.

It isn't a real competition, it is story lined.

Sure even tough enough had more than one person getting a contract despite not winning it. Morrison didn't win it, i think Josh Matthews may have taken part in the first season. I know there was another fella that didn't win (a Swagger like fella) and he got a contract with the WWE too. may be others as well.

dont want this thread going too far off topic with talk of tough enough but...

    notably TE folk were:

Maven, Nidia, Chris Nowinski & Josh Matthews (Season1)

Matt Morgan, Jackie Gayda (Season 2)
Shad Gaspard had to be replaced due to medical complications

John Hennigan aka John Morrison (Season 3)
Melina, Daivari and Daniel Puder (didnt make it to the final 25)

Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, Daniel Puder, Nick Mitchell [Spirit Squad], Ryan Reeves aka NXTs Skip Sheffield, Marty Wright aka The Boogeyman (Season 4)

cheers - just backs up my NXT point. TE was much more an actual competition than NXT is, and that didn't stop the losers getting contracts. Anyone who expected only one guy from each season of NXT to get a contract wasn't thinking straight imo - not everyone in each season will get a contract, but a good number will, as long as they show they can perform in front of a WWE crowd and get over.

The tagline for the show is "who will become WWE's next breakout star" kinda implying one winner to me
