Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone explain this to me

Just playing with the Online VRT calculator here, thinking about buying in the UK.

Why would the VRT on a car registered first in Dec 2008 be less than a car first registered in June 2008?- Same car, spec etc

I would have expected the newer car to be more--

    MAKE: AUDI
    MODEL: A4 1.9 TDI 113BHP (From Sept. 2004)
    VERSION: SE 113BHP 04DR / SALOON / MANUAL / DIESEL /
    CO2 EMISSIONS: 152
    MILEAGE: 25000 MILES

Haven't checked this but I would assume from Sept it had a revised engine with lower emissions, perhaps pushing it to a lower VRT band.

    Edit:

    Actually strange...

What kind of difference is there in the VRT? The older one should be less, can't see any reason for it not to be with both cars same spec and same CO2 emissions.

ah , i think I have it-- I was using the same mileage in both calculations

25k in a June 08 car is better than 25k in a Dec 08 car ----apparently

You can claim back any overpaid Vrt if you submit what you believe is the correct omsp, get a quote from an Audi garage for the same car that's your true omsp and you can base an appeal around that, be prepared to wait, took me about 3mts to get a refund from them.
