I was thinking of a really good way to get loads of people a job.

get Limerick city and county council to accept cv's and have one person from the place act as a kinda of leader in the sence that he tells the group what to do in the different areas, ie cleaning and tidying the different places.

i know people are going to post here saying why would they hire people when a few people do this for free but they could be peyed on an hourly rate, cleaning up different neighbourhoods, and really have a big community feel to this across the city to help maintain loads of different places.

potentially hundreds of people could benifit from this, it could have the backing of the government so it wouldnt leave the councils dry of money..

this work would be ongoing and when they need to do something they just give u a text or ring
    any thoughts?

Wouldnt people just drag it out so they work longer hence getting paid more, than working fast and working for shorter hours?

Limerick is barely getting its regeneration money, the country is 20Billion in debt, there is a recruitment freeze in most public sector work. The only way this would work is if people did it for dole money, which they can get for doing nothing anyway, so while its a nice idea in theory , the government doesnt have the money to pay people to do things that arent exactly a priority.

no because there would be a person in each group that works with the local authority as a sort of foreman saying what needs to be done in a certain amount of time.

maybe no on an hourly bases, maybe on a daily basis getting payed. it is something that should get eu funding or something so, its a great way to get thousands of people out around the country and make a bit of money while working and meeting firends
