Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Small holding herd number

Hi, Was thinking of setting up a small holding with some rare breed cattle for beef production such as dexters. Could anyone help advise me on whats the story with getting a herd number as a smallholder? Cheers

Contact your local Dept of Ag/DVO and get a ER1 form, which is an application form for a herd number. You will need a pen and cattle crush, map of the land and proof that you have the use of the land, eg deeds, lease, or rental agreement etc. Size of the holding doesn't matter.
