Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So my birthday's in a few weeks and I was thinking of getting some decent make-up with my birthday money. I'm pretty clueless though and I've heard my friends raving about M.A.C so I was thinking of booking a M.A.C make-up masterclass in Brown Thomas. Just wondering has anyone here done it and how did you find it? Was it helpful enough to be worth €40 and do they try to pressure you into buying all the products used (I'm terrible at saying no =P)? Also do the go through the basics or is just certain looks?

Thanks, I know it's a load of questions but I was a tomboy for most of my life. =P

Is a masterclass the same as a 'makeover'? I know a few girls who have had the makeover (where the cost is redeemable against purchases) and they've all been unsatisfied. Badly matched foundation, and generally way OTT looks. One girl asked for a soft smokey eye look. She's got very pale skin. Her eyes looked ridiculous - like she was in fancy dress as a skeleton, almost. They used really dark eyeshadows and it was so over the top it just looked stupid.

AFAIK they don't even employ qualified makeup artists in MAC; you'd be better paying to go to a place that does makeup lessons for a tutorial.

I got it done years ago.

They go through all the basics with you. when they for eg do your foundation they show you how to do it on one side of your face and you have to do the other side. same with eyes ect.

I got to choose the colours I wanted to us, but where more than helpful to guide you. I spent my money on getting the brushes then and I still have them now. Great buy. Hope you enjoy. Make sure u plan to go out afterwards, shame to put the make over to waste !!
