Not sure where the correct place for this is, so please feel free to move it if its not appropriate.

I'm looking to speak to people who are part of a sub-culture. I should say that I am personally not a fan of the word itself as it has a slightly derogatory ring to it.

Definition: A social group within a national culture that has distinctive patterns of behavior and beliefs

I would like to speak to you as part of a radio documentary based around the theme of subcultures. If you are a surfer, goth, biker, hacker, skater, emo, hippy or whatever else, I'd love to talk to you. Interviews can be conducted by phone, although I would prefer to record in person.

I have no intention of painting anyone in a negative light and if you wish to remain anonymous, thats fine too. One important point to make though - If you go surfing or skating once or twice a month, you are not really what I am looking for. To be truly part of a subculture I believe that it needs to play a bigger part in your life.

Contact me on boards or at BackFlipRadio@gmail.com

Yes, I am normal. We're a minority grouping it seems.

In all seriousness you should make your way to the Central Bank over the weekend. Seems to be always full to the hilt with "sub culture" types anytime I am wandering by it.

Yeah, only problem with that is you are likely to be speaking to teenagers who are simply going through a phase. Although it could be argued that all 'emos' are just going through a phase I suppose.

I'm part of a sub-culture that I live and breath every day.

I am an internet nerd! :D Jobless, living at home, broke, spends many hours a day online.

    Does that fit?

I'm not doing any interviews, but this is a real subculture!!!

I'd avoid talking to anyone under the age of 21.

Have a chat with anyone who has been a senior manager or director in an Irish Financial institution.

    Thats a subculture worth investigating.

Hippies are full of shít! Talk to a few surfers if you can, much more interesting people IMO. One of the best documentaries I've ever watched was Riding Giants. Bravery and dedication is an understatement. Sorry, but I can't help you out myself.

I'm anglo irish, does that count?

    :)

Well I wouldn't call all surfers brave, but the bravery of the serious surfers like in the docu I mentioned above was beyond belief.
Some of them actually died, fully aware of the consequences beforehand.

Arg. The traffic on this forum is so low that its unlikely many will see the thread...

I suppose I'll have to post it on the individual forums - Surfing etc.
