hi guys, building a home server for work, and wondering if this would meet my requirements.

i need a very very reliable computer, with ample storage space/backup space which can give 3 - 4 people access through the web at the same time without causing problems.

    their uses will be:

accessing outlook accounts hosted on the computer through the web.
accessing files and documents on a shared drive from the computer through the web.
accessing a personal partition for their own files on the server through the web.

also want to host their website on the server too.

going to be connected to a fixed ip 30mb dl 3mb upload ntl connection.

here's the specs ive picked for the server. let me know if anything should be changed.

    case: antec 300

    psu: 400w corsair
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=404885

    cpu: athlon II x3 435
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=500139

    mobo: asus m4A78 pro
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=427376

    harddrive config:

    3 x Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA2
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=331024

1 for windows xps 2003, and programs etc.
2 for the shared X drive in raid 1.

    2 x 482721 Samsung EcoGreen F2 1.5 TB
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=482721

1 for a backup to the raid 1 drives.
1 for a partion for each user to have their own storage space on the server.

also need to find a decent ups so any suggestions are very welcome.

    total cost comes to 560.

Nowt wrong really to be honest. I would howerver change to the 500gb to the500gb f1 samsung drives, and drop the eco green drive, its a steaming pile of crap CHange it for the f3 1tb samsung drives.

You could also drop back to the x2 240/250 (These are more then often not tripple or quad cores which can be unlocked)

    ok, gonna change the harddrives.

    3 x 1tb spinpoint f3's instead of the 1.5 tb drives.

cant find the 500gb f1's in stock anywhere, so i might stick with the wd se's as they get very good ratings.

Not a huge fan of WD drives myself, probably just from bad luck every WD drive iv'e owned has failed on me in less then a year.
