Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It doesn't say it on their website but some of the IMVG lads were at the Point Village Market last Sunday to promote it and they were handing out leaflets that said '10am to 6pm' on them.

On that topic, what are the buses from town that go past the showground thing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,045 ✭✭✭OzCam

There's a thread from last year's Salute that has all that info in it. Try the board Search. If it's been archived, the DublinBus website has a list of the routes. It's about a 10-minute walk from the airport.

41 and 41C stop next to it on the way to swords. They're pretty frequent. Get them from Lower Abbey st,

Just back from Salute show and it's well worth a visit if you are thinking of going.

Picked up a few goodies while I was there including an original 1971 M65 jacket which I'm very proud of! Also got an ex-issue (but as-new) Gortex DPM jacket for the young lad for €25 plus a load of bits 'n bobs. It's a Godsend that there is no ATM on site or I'd still be there......!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,551 ✭✭✭swiftblade

Couldn't echo that more! I picked up a brand new safariland holster for €13. Also a full set of Us woodland for €10. All the reanactors are very friendly and willing to answer all your questions.

    Its a must see! :D

Technically he was dressed in a wwI uniform. He looked like a child soldier as well. Or course the 101 airbourne won they had better weapons!! Was asked to dress up as well. Being an odd seize excepted me from service.

On that subject, was able to shop around and found bits of the same uniform in different places to make it work. Splurged out and got three uniforms.
