For RTE you would need a list that uses that same transmitter as you as it varies by area.

Hi Tony that would be Three Rock. Not so concerned tuning in the Irish ones, thats fairly easy... its just to get the essential British ones in one tidy file.

    Cheers

Hi Tony I got my system from you and would like to tune in bbchd and c4hd on my Ariva hd combo what do I do?

I hate to admit it but I can't find a heap of channels any more either. I'd really appreciate it if someone with all the HD satellite channels could upload a file of their channels. Mercy buckets.

    HA!

    Got it!

Jaysus wept, after much weeping and grinding of teeth I finally figured it out:

    BBCHD

    50
    10847
    V
    DVB-S2
    QPSK
    23000
    8/9

    C4HD

    12607
    V
    27500
    3/4
    QPSK

There were several websites (including 'official' ones) that gave old info and then some of the UK fora gave even more info that brought me nowhere.

What I missed (over and over again) was the modulation change from DVB-S to DVB-S2 plus the Ariva kept saying that the frequencies were already in use and I couldn't figure out what to do. On top of that someone here on boards uploaded an Ariva editor but it wasn't the one for this box so I was trying to load my USB file and couldn't.

I'll upload an edited file tomorrow for anyone who's interested.

Hi all, I have been using this box for a few months now and I am impressed with it. My only issue is with RTÉ Aertel service. Can it be received on these boxes? I bought a cheap box in Aldi last week for my parents and it works perfectly on it. Does anyone know of a way to get it to work on the Ariva HD Combo box?

    Hi Nodolan,

If you could post that update that would be great...

    I have the original Ferguson Combo and for some reason when I manually retune BBC / BBC 1 HD , I lose Film 4 / Film 4+1 / More 4 +1 - and vice-versa..

(A full auto-tune gets everything except all of the above...)

    Cheers

I'm afraid I screwed things up again and I had to reset my box to factory default. After I did that I went through the setup again and so now I have a channel list but it's edited for family viewing (i.e. there's no porn) as I'm selling my combo box to buy the newer model.

I've attached the channel list that is on my box right now - everything is working - Channel 4 HD, ITV HD (the signal for Granada which is apparently the best one), BBC HD, BBC One HD, ESPN, Sky News etc. I left a lot of duplicate channels on the list and have eight sets of favourites set up (leisure, news, sports, kids etc.).

Let me know if it works for you. I'll post a link to the editor software later.

It seems to me that the best option, although its a bit long-winded, is to go to lyngsat and manually do each section according to their info as the default setup within the box is now missing a lot of channels and in some cases seems to be using the transponder number with a different frequency (perhaps Tony could correct me on that) so the signals aren't being picked up - I had to set some frequencies on some transponders to zero so that I could use the correct transponder.

Can you tell us what exactly you're doing, what process you're going through?

Are you getting error messages? Are you getting a blank screen? Can you take a photo of your screen where you're adding the new channels?

    My setup is:

    BBC HD
    163335.jpg

    BBC One HD
    163336.jpg

    Channel 4 HD
    163337.jpg

ITV HD (I think this signal is the London one)
    163338.jpg

ITV HD (the Granada signal - apparently there might be sync issues with the other one - I edited the name myself)

    163339.jpg

    Hope that helps.

Strangely I've lost BBCHD and BBC1 HD over the last few days. ITV1 HD and the rest of the regular bbc and itv channels are working fine but when I go to BBC HD channels it's just black screen, signal meter looks strong but no picture or sound. A second hd sat box is still receiving BBC hd off another feed on the lnb so signal seems to be there

Have tried scanning for channels but BBC HD not picked up. Any one have any ideas? or had similar problems with BBC HD channels recently

Looking at other posts I see theirs DVB-S2 setting for some channels, maybe that explains it, must try that

Yes, they changed the transponder...go to TP Setup for 10847 V, change symbol rate to 23000, FEC to 8/9 and DVB-S to DVB-S2. No need to rescan.

STB posted links to a channel editor which can download all the latest transponders + channels etc. directly from Kingofsat.

It can export to a number formats, (ALi Generic should work for the new combos), but not to Ariva HD Combo mk1.

However, it can export to text, which can then be imported to the Ferguson editor, and saved with the .usb extension. It's much easier to use, so you can rearrange everything very quickly. I'm not sure if the favourite lists are carried over. The DTT channels would have to be scanned manually.

    Great editor - thank you.
BTW the Ferguson editor (which isn't as advanced as the other one) can download from the lyngsat website (with some help).

    Hi,
I have downloaded the channel list from this thread. Can someone tell me how to load this list onto the Ariva 200 ? The file unzips as a .usb file. I have tried renaming it as .abs file, but get a bin file mismatch error when I try to use the file to update.
    Thanks

The .usb files are for the original Ariva HD Combo. The Ariva 200 & 120 Combos use .abs, see this post in the Ariva 120 thread for a channel list.

    Hi all,
I took delivery of my HD 120 Combo on Friday last 17th June.
I did a single satellite scan and got everything, including Channel 4 HD.!-
which I do not have on my other box - an AZbox Premium.
The firmware on my Ferguson 120 Hd is "V2.13B5" , which has a filedate of 27/05/2011. How can this be - The box was despatched on 10/06/2011 from Poland.
I do have a problem - vision and speech are out of synch. Can anyone help me here?
PS - do not try to add CBeebies etc to your Channel list at night - it does not pick them up because they are shutdown.

    This site
    http://www.tvtrade.ie/ferguson-ariva-200-digital-satellite-combo-receiver.html
says the product has been discontinued due to problems including sync of audio and picture.
I had an Ariva 200 combo with the same issue, I tried everything to resolve it without success and had to return the product eventually.

CBeebies becomes BBC 4 AFAIK plus you'll need to be more specific about the sync issue - is it on every channel or just some and what connection are you using (HDMI or scart)?

This is the Ariva 120 thread - there's another thread for the 200 issues (it hasn't been discontinued by Ferguson, there's a firmware update on the way).

    Hi,
I am using a HDMI cable to connect the 120 Combo to the TV.
The sync problem is not on every channel - I watched ITVI HD last night (from 9pm to 10 pm) -there was no problem.
So I will take note of which channels are out of sync.
Part of my problem may be perception - most of the time I watch the actors eyes /expression, and not their lips ?

It would be very strange if it was discontinued since ferguson have today released new firmware for the Ariva 200

    Hi ,
I have updates on my problem/ situation (sound out of sync.) -

I phoned Sat.World in Kimmage who sell Fergusons. I was told that yes the 120 Combo has this technical problem, and it cannot be fixed. He advised me to return the box.
I then Emailed the Polish distributor where I bought the box, and Ferguson themselves, asking for a solution to the problem.
So far I have had no reply.
But following Tony's lead on updated Firmware, I have now downloaded the latest -V2.14B2.abs - and will load it shortly.
The intructions on how to upgrade-the users manual- indicate that all my hard work on a Favourites channel list mayhave been for naught.
I will keep you all informed.

I think its futile to try and narrow the sync problem down to particular channels. What I found was that the sync issue was more of a function of switching from one channel to another. If you switch and the audio and video are in sync then they will tend to stay in sync. The problem is that every time you switch channels there is a probability that the audio and video will not sync. Sometimes the lag is very small and you will not notice, other times it will be borderline and you will convince yourself that everything is okay when in reality its not. At its worst it can be a number of seconds out. You can normally fix the problem on a given channel by briefly switching away from the channel and then back again.

I am a little confused - is the firmware update for the 120 or the 200? I have had occasional sync problems on the 200 - does the update address this?

There was a firmware relase for the 200 yesterday which is certainly worth trying to see does it solve the issues you are experiencing. http://www.ferguson-digital.eu/en/download/HD-Satellite-Receivers/ariva-200/
