Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey there,

Im trying to fix a friends mobile internet connection on hes laptop, i installed the software for him originally (just plugged in the USB stick thing) and it was good to go. Now it keeps coming up with errors even after reinstalling.

    error "mobile connection not possible"
    - set your current device as default : its already set as default
    - Ensure no other program is using your mobile device : nothing is
    - Delete the device and re-add it : tried it 3 times.

    RAS Error code 691

There's full signal strength and the device is flashing with a purple light.

Any ideas? i dont want to not be able to fix it for him because he'll think im a cripple

Contact vodafone about it. No use pretending you know something if you don't. Thing is though that most tech-savy people don't know even half what people think they know. It's just an educated guess. We still read manuals and call tech support. If a system is built by someone else and isn't document well then without incredible efforts made to reverse engineer it we do rely on the manufacturer for help. There's no shame in ringing up for help.

I found a mountain of information online by just googling your error codes have you sifted through posts already out there about this?

hey, yes i have gone through the stuff all the "Vodafone techies" wrote in reply to people. Of course none of them work. because they're probably covering up for some other issue.

stuff like "maybe the USB port isn't getting enough power on your laptop, go in and increase power settings..... what the hell is he talking about. also he said "sometimes your laptop thinks its a DVD device and because it thinks that it wont allow it to access the internet"...

ring up vodafone technical support. Their product their responsibility to fix it. If it doesn't work you can keep on at them until it does.

Its good advice. If you don't want to take it, no need to be snippy about it.

You can also check with Vodafone on their forum here.
