Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It could be a number of things; presuming you have XP on it?

    Info from MS: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321626

Try the few things suggested there, like seeing if the BIOS can see the drive (usually F2 to enter the setup as the laptop starts up).

After that, if you have stuff on the hard drive you need to backup, (and assuming you've no IT support/friend who might be technically inclined) I'd recommend downloading and burning a boot disk like Knoppix, to see if you can get to a desktop, and save off what you need to recover (docs/pics/mp3/etc).

EDIT: One other thing, you haven't got a USB memory card/stick in one of the ports, do you? Unplug it if you do, and try booting again.
