filling settling cracks in house

hi, i bought a new house last year and have noticed some huge cracks around the house and things like the stairs, bath and plug sockets have moved and left gaps. What kind of filler should i use and can i use the same type of filler for each crack/gap? thanks

I think that painters caulk is the best as it allows for move in the future as it is flexible.
