Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

Not sure if this is the right place to post here so please feel free to move this to anywhere else.

Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a davorak keyboard, also is there any mavis beacon type software i could use to work on it or should normal type tutoring software would work with one.

I'm not sure if many users here use them but I have heard that they were more efficent and easier to use once you get used to them but if anyone has any information I would be greatful

Rather than buy one, you could always remap your keys to a Dvorak layout. Cheaper, and if you get bored you can always switch back.

From what I've read, Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 5.0 and earlier had Dvorak-specific lessons but versions since 5.0 do not. Marcus Brooks has a comprehensive Dvorak site with links to typing tutors with Dvorak support and hardwired Dvorak keyboards. I used ABCD: A Basic Course in Dvorak when I was learning. Chatting regularly in IRC helped a lot too.

There's no need to buy a hardwired Dvorak keyboard. Just change the layout in your OS. You'll pick up the layout faster If you don't have the Dvorak letters stamped on the keys in front of you. Some people suggest keeping a page with the Dvorak layout printed out near your monitor for reference.

I thought that the keyboards for dvorak keyboards were split in two with each hand acting independently on either side of the board. Thats for all the info guys. I'll try mapping my keyboard and get cracking on it.
