Hello,

I'm looking for information on DVD recorders.

The one I have at the moment is on it's last legs so I need to replace it.

The info I need is about recording in 19:9 and 4:3. My current machine is set to record in 16:9 as a default, but can be set to record programmes or movies in 4:3 (if it isn't set that way it will force the 4:3 movie in 16:9 and stretch the picture, or record the black bars at the side - depending on the set up of the TV).

Are all DVD recorders like this? Are there any that automatically record in the correct aspect ratio?
