Anybody else see this this morning?

A man has been shot in Limerick this morning.

The shooting happened at a petrol station on the Ennis Road in the city at around 6.30am. It is believed the victim was delivering bread when he was shot during a robbery at the premises.

Gardaí have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses. The area has been sealed off.

Considering this is a main commuter road out of Limerick and the time of the day this happened just makes it shocking. This city really is just turning into **** with every week that passes.

    Limerick Leader update:

    http://www.limerickleader.ie/news/Man-shot-dead-at-Ennis.6092059.jp
GARDAI in Limerick are investigating a murder after a man was shot dead in a petrol filling station at 6.05 this Monday morning.
The incident happened at the Topaz garage opposite the Greenhills hotel. Limerick Leader journalist David Hurley, who is at the scene, said that Gardai had yet to give full details of the incident.

What is known, however, is that the man was shot inside the premises and his body was still there two hours later.

The victim is believed to be a member of the Treacy family who have been involved in Limerick's bitter gangland feud.

Jesus this is shocking news, RTE said something about a robbery but it must have been intentional if it was one of the Treacys, when i heard breadman was shot on the radio this morning I immeditely knew it was one of the Treacys

Its the fact they had the sheer neck to do something like this on a busy commuter road at the start of a working week. I mean if they want to kill and shoot at each other, nobody really cares as long as they keep it in their estates. When it starts spilling into areas where an innocent passerby could be hit too, then its time for the gardai to put on the steel toe boots and drive it into the balls of these scumbag familys.

This is bad news for Limerick.

p.s. List of suspects should be agreeably short.

Why are you surprised with anything these scumbags do? They've been out of control for long time now, innocent people have been shot dead by them lots of times - Brian Fitzgerald, Roy collins, Shane Geoghean, etc.

Soon as I heard that it was a bread van I had an idea that the gangs where involved. Didn't the particular van have a unmarked escort for years?

I'm not surprised at all, just sickened that such gutter scum are still breathing the same air as me. And everytime something like this happens the gardai put on the big song and dance show, raiding houses and arresting people who get released a few hours later anyway. That all goes on for a week or 2 and then nothing....we simply wait until somebody else gets snuffed out and the whole bloody parade starts again.

I know the one you are talking about but the news reports said a man in his thirties, I think the guy that has the Garda escort is older.

Ya Owen Treacy's father, but why did the Gardai not give escort to the brother too? One thing you can be sure is that the Dundons will be celebrating this news in prison today

I thought that Ger got out recently, not sure if John is still locked up but he was only in for motoring offences, wasn't it?

Whatever about the ins and outs of the whole situation, and whatever they did in their spare time, at least the Traceys were out trying to do an honest days work. The sad thing is that the fact they went out and tried to hold down jobs made them soft targets as there was no way the Gardai could protect them all, all the time.

Roy Collins and now this Tracey fella, they are really hammering home the message not to testify against them or you will be got, or even worse, your family will be got.

Ya sure wasn't Ger the muppet following the prison van recently? Considering Dessie is doing life on this mans brothers testimony I'm certain it was them that ordered it

I was reading in a Sunday paper the week before last that one of them two now has a price on his head? No loss anyway if someone collects on it, might take the pricks down a peg or two.

As far as I remember they have a few cameras around that shop. There is definitely one pointing towards the cashier window and entry door.

See this is why Limerick really is more dangerous to live in than Dublin.
In Dublin these vermin are usually shot at home in their cars etc
here....they are shot in public. no qualms......
This city is dangerous and mental

The guy that was shot, his name is Daniel. He took over most if not all of the bread run from his father in last couple of months. Up to that point the father would do most of if not all the bread run, and received protection from an unmarked car that would follow him everywhere. Daniel did not have protection as the father had, that's why there was no garda around when the incident occured this morning.

that is just crazy if the gardai did not continue to provide protection

Its a fact Baza. How many innocents have been shot and killed here in recent times. And many shootings in full public glare with many innocent people around.
Up in Dublin they seem to always be shot at home or in their cars. And cant remember the last time an innocent person was shot up there. Probably that electrican a few years back.
More people are killed in Dublin but the public are at more danger down here with the way these things are carried out.

Well there'll be no witnesses, so hopefully.
    The message here is clear:
If you see something, say nothing
