Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Firefox won't play own welcome video

Since a couple of poitn releases back, Firefo's homepage has featured a video intended to show off its pligin-free capabilities. This video does not play on my PC for more than about 4 seconds. Has anyone else noticed this?

I assume it's something on my PC but if it's supposed to be all self-contained I don't see why there would be a plugin conflict. It's not that I want so see a bunch of smug douchebags welcoming me to firefox but if this is their demo, I'm not too confident their technology actually works.

Do you have a link to the page? Is it http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0.1/firstrun/ ?

No, it opens when you've first upgraded to a new point release, but I can't get to it again

I had this same issue at first, then some web-based video services started to do the same (would play the first few seconds and then die on me).

I eventually killed some of my extensions, having had too many installed, and somewhere in the purge managed to fix it. Unfortunately I don't have a list of what I got rid of, so I can't offer anything more specific than that :(

I'll try find some other video that works in the same way and test it with no extensions.

The 'whats new' page for 3.5 are what you're talking about?

    http://en-gb.www.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox/3.5.8/whatsnew/

    The video works ok here.
