Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Calf Feeding

We have always bucket fed calves twice a day. Usually start them off on the teat buckets and after a month or so get them to drink from the buckets. Eventhough we have a small herd, this is quite labourious. We have not got a great setup but we will not be investing as we will probably get out of cows in the next few years. The father does it all himself apart from the weekends when I help out. I have read some Teagasc material that say that in tests calves on once a day teat feeding (milk + additive or milk replacer) perform best.
Anyone do this at the moment or any other recommendations?

once a day feeding is fine providing you dont start them too young , would feed them twice a day for the 1st month

things cant be that bad that you only feed them twice a week.
if you cant afford to feed them you cant afford to have them at all.
