I have wristbands for the blueroom and Im wondering what they can be used for? I got them off facebook ages ago, I have to pick them up from the o2! If I go into the bar can I skip the que? Could I get a pit pass, if there is one earlier? Or do I have to go through the ticket checking and then into the blueroom?
    Thanks guys!

No one else find toilet/sex humour coming from blokes in their mid to late 30's a bit sad? I bet they laugh when someone says Uranus.

It's Blink 182, what were you expecting?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,847 ✭✭✭HavingCrack

Here bit random this lads but a group of my mates are queing up real early to get into the pit/the front whichever it'll be! which just isnt my scene so I;m thinking of heading in around half 7 and just watching Blink on my own and meeting up with them afterwards!

Just wonderign what are Blink gigs like on your own? there won't be tonnes of drunken scumbags will there?

By pushing i mean walking into the crowd as far as physically possible, which gets you pretty much to front. Obviously i'm not going to be shoving my way through the crowd and pulling people off the barrier

sorry just i have had it done to me and have seen it done plenty of times before and it wasnt pleasant :S

Listening to Anthem Part II: so this is what 2002 / being 14 was like again.

    Nostalgic fun ahoy!

Happy Blink 182 Day all :D

This gig has been years in the making. I feel all 16 again! Even last night I booked Sum 41 in Glasgow, just to make the teenagery feeling complete.

Hope everyone has a ball tonight :)

Where would you guys recommend to park? I'm thinking of driving up. The o2 is only 45mins from me so I can leave whenever.

    Cheers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 552 ✭✭✭whiterob81

Ticketmaster have car park tickets for sale for €10. the car park's around sherriff street/east wall junction. apart from that, I wouldn't really know where to go for free parking.

are there 2 support bands on tonight or is it just twin atlantic?

and what time are blink 182 due on stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,047 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Think it's just the one support now - Twin Atlantic.

Am in Dublin now too.. making my way towards the North Star to check in.

Queue has about 250 in right now.
If your entrance 1 OR 3, queue around at entrance 3.
Security just told me depending on how the queue goes, will determine if there is a pit.
But he did say if it keeps growing it's likely.

    Snooch to the nooch!!

Jaysus, early for a queue alright! I don't plan on showing up til half seven or so :pac:

Ahh to be young and enthusiastic again.

*starts queuing for Joanna Newsom in a fortnight, even though I have reserved seating*

Sh*te support, so couple of bevvies beforehand.

    I'll be there about 7.30 - 8

Probably inevitable this would happen but not really arsed queuing now. :/

Queuing isn't as appealing when you don't have to skip school to do it anyway :P

Same, off work at 5, so home for half, have dinner, into town for a pint or two and then hit the O2 around 8 or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

There's a few nut jockeys standing beside us just shouting and making funny remarks out of everything. Wrecking my head!!
The rest of the queue is grand, WHY have I to be beside these?

I'd nearly move back further just so I don't have to listen to them.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 15,254 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Yup heading into town at around 6/6.30 head to that pub under Tara St for a few pints and then head up

    6.30PM Doors
    7.45PM Twin Atlantic
    9.00PM Blink 182
    *times subject to chang

250 person line already? I wasnt planning on going until after 5, guess my chances of getting into the pit are slim to none.

ok here is what we do. ring into joe duffy and start a national 'outcry' at the amount of kids skipping secondary school to wait outside the 02. then the schools and parents will drive by the 02 and pick their kids up. all the over 18 show goers can now go to the pub and waltz into the pit at 7:30pm. anybody up for it?

anyone know what the Audi Club @ the o2 is ?

It's an expensive members bar in the venue I believe.

Free food, less queues - that kind of thing. Costs a bomb to join it though.

Competition winners and the like probably get to go in there.

    Im in the same boat.

I no this has been asked a few times with gigs in the O2 but is it easy to sneak down from the upstairs cause my friends are up there and im downstairs. The plan i had was to tell them to head down to the smoking area and then just walk threw the door into the standing area. If this cant be discussed Mods i aplogies

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

What pubs are decent for a couple of pints in the vicinity of the O2?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 552 ✭✭✭whiterob81

the jury's inn along the quays is grand for a few pints. was in there before iron maiden

the white horse (Possibly called mcdonagh's now) on the opposite side of the river is also a nice spot.

Both are still a good 10 - 15 mins walk away from the o2. don't really know of anywhere closer

If i'm at a gig and i have time to think "i should go on boards and talk about this" it would have to be a pretty ****ty gig.

Yeah guess that's true! And I'm guilty meself! Posted that last post on the first Luas leaving!

And yeah it was an excellent gig!

I normally 'soak' myself with a bands songs in the coming weeks to a gig on the van CD player and then after, I dont really want to hear the stuff. But tomorrow the Greatest Hits is going straight back on!

Also maybe I'm gettin a bit old but what is it about these people that just bump into you as they're going by? Is it a teenage thing or what? I dont even think it's like they're drunk or whatever...

ah.. now home for me cocoa and slippers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,047 ✭✭✭✭Basq

As I said to my friend before the encore, if they play Carousel and Dammit, I can die!

    ** dies **

Yes, Tom's voice was patchy at times but they still had a helluva stage presence. I was dreading hearing his
voice but it wasn't that bad!

    Travis's encore solo was astounding!

Plenty of great stuff - thought 'Feeling This' was great live. If they played again, I'd go in a heartbeat.

I'm fecking hoarse now. Hearing all those songs I grew up with really put a smile on my face and I shouted from the top of my lungs - Josie was a nice addition too.

VERY young crowd.. But can't say I didn't expect it!

Time for a shower and an early night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,869 ✭✭✭Futurecrook

Currently waiting on a bus home. Thought it was a fantastic gig. Really enjoyed it, despite the fact that at one stage I was surrounded on all sides by sweaty shirtless teenage boys. :( Why can't people just keep their clothes on?
