Green Card

I used to live in America when I was three years old, had a Green Card which stated I could permanently reside and work there.

Anyway, I moved back to Ireland around a year later as I obviously had no say in the matter.

What I am wondering is, would my Green Card still be valid? If not, can it be reactivated?

    Any help appreciated.

I've heard that there is a clause somewhere in the US immigration regs that says that if you're removed from the country when you're underage they might reinstate your resident status later.

But you'll have to contact the US embassy in Dublin to make sure. There's also lawyers who specialise in US immigration who may help.

    Short answer: probably not.

Were you born in the USA though, or were your parents living in the USA for more than 5 years before you were born? If so, you may have a claim to citizenship.
