Bogman needs Dublin Bus and Train help

I need to get from Monaghan to Maynooth. I know I have to get the bus from Monaghan to Dublin Busáras, and then get the train from Dublin to Maynooth. However, as one of those rural people you may have seen on the telly, I'm not too familiar with The Big City. I don't know which train station to go to when I get off the bus.

There's Connolly, Heuston, Pearse... I have no idea where any of them are. I'm no good at maps, so I thought I'd ask the people who know best: which one is closest to Busáras? And does it have a train to Maynooth? And finally, how do I get there from the bus-station?

Connolly is the station you need, and luckily enough it's a 2 minute walk from busarus. pdf timetable here:

You can't really miss it, come out the front of busarus and turn left it's across the road, where the luas tracks
are going.

You need to get the train from Connolly station which is literally across the road from Busaras.

You can get buses out to Maynooth but the train is a hell of a lot shorter of a journey.

The Maynooth station is on the sligo line, so it may be possible for you to get the train/bus from Monaghan and change at sligo.

Ah that's great thanks! I was dreading I'd have to traipse all over Dublin looking for the station.

Edit: There's no Monaghan train, so it'll have to be the bus.

Is there a Monaghan - Sligo bus, and then get the train the rest of the way? Probably more expensive, but much easier to organise
