Are you seeing anything from those light showers coming in from the sea ?

My idea on the snowline to 30 metres during today.

Precip intensity more than drizzle, very light.

    snowrisk.png
zero celcius air on the east coast is at about 800-1000ft at the moment which is where the snowflakes are when they start falling.
It's a big ask for them to land to sea level intact through a 1000ft of above zero air even with a minus dewpoint.

0C here. Grass and trees still white from frost. The colour of the sky is uniformly greay. Ground is bone dry. Any snow will undoubtedly settle.

whats your height above sea level there min?

The part of the hill I'm on is around 210 metres, rises to 260M, levels off and then rises to over 310M.

Usually above the normal snowline around here.

Trying to get an angle which shows the little palm tree dead ahead to show wind, the tarmac on the drive to show if it goes white () and the main N road in the distance to see if there is traffic disruption.

That I have it there now.

    Its pointing south btw.

I've an awful feeling this is going to miss me by miles if the radar is anything to go by.

Light sleety snow falling down here now. It's very wet stuff so far.
We'll see what it does when it gets going properly.

going by sat 24 the bulk of it seems to be missing us :(
looks as though ennis region will be as far west as it gets.

As a total novice and ignorant of sats and chart reading would it be silly to presume the dense white cloud on the radar is where the actual precipitation occours - or can occour...?

Just a brief illustration using the pressure charts for today of the warm/ occluding front as it pushes north, a real boundary between martime and continental air from britain develops.

The Mournes provide a real boundary to the cold/martime air by tomorrow morning.
