Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

what is it you and Rooney on the left :pac:

boggles its pure and simple madness tbh simple as that

I'd put the house on it, if Owen was brought on instead of Park. United would be more than up.

Park on the left nulifies our attack more often than not, even Fergie saw it against Everton and went with Anderson instead.

There is only so many times any team can squander possession and attacking chances and not be punished.

i can't imagine they would have let him play on if threatening a season ending injury.

When it comes to ligaments, depends on how much they opened.

You get a pretty good idea sooner or later.

    Which is what happened.

but where would the goals come from, owen and berba arent exactly bombing them in, and what ever happened to if it aint broke dont fix it mentality?

dont get me wrong Park drives me nuts too but im willing to put up with it once Rooney plays up front

Berbs has 5 in 5 starts.

I'd leave Rooney up front, thats the place that he most enjoys playing - and its showing, his recent form has been excellent

Rooney coming from the left would have finished it. ;)

Rooney on the left wouldn't have allowed for the 1-2 with Valencia ;)

berba has only 9 goals this season , we shouldn't have to rely on him when we have a striker who has scored 21 goals

concerning owen, I like Owen and people give him **** because he misses chances while coming on as a sub, that's the important word right there a "sub" its very hard for a striker to come with like 10-20 mins left and expect to do a job.

but getting back to the discussion I think berba and owen would be a better partnership than Berba and Rooney but when you have a WC striker why change his position to accommodate ok strikers :)

Thats 2 goals made by Berbs in fairness. Valencia with 2 excellent balls, but Berbs touch and vision made both.

Outstanding. Rooney's amazing movement combined with his new found ability to head the ball is going to be a real force for us.

Owen is finished, Ferguson even seems to recognise this now. I'd put money on him leaving in the summer.

This berba to val to rooney link-up thing might just work y'know.

    Rooney does it again.

2 tap ins in fairness. Put on a plate by Valencia.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭jaykay74

Valencia with a brilliant cross again. :D:D

earlier in the season the big complaint was no one on the end of Valencias crosses. Great to see Rooney step up to the mark. Nani on the right my hole. not at the expense of valencia in the team imo.

    lovely from Berba.

but if he was on the left he wouldnt be in that position, your argument is getting weak Boggles ;)

**** me half rooneys goals must be with his head this season. a weakness he himself pointed out and has obviously been worked on very hard since.

That's something that most people won't realise.

With Rooney playing a much more advanced position than he has in the past, he's allowing Berbatov to work in a position he is much more used to. Berbatov is now the man playing off the main striker of Rooney. He's started the two goals today, Valencia has whipped it in, and Rooney's finish. A nice little combo :)

No offence, but the idea of playing Rooney on the left is ridiculous, you are putting United's greatest scoring threat in a place where his threat is nullified. There have been numerous other cases of great central players been put on the wings, where their threat is less than through the centre, Cantona and Henry being examples I can think of off the top of my head

I remember reading an article recently that Rooney much prefers playing through the centre, and you can see it in him, he is really enjoying his football at the moment and it shows in his goal scoring rate recently

    or Ronaldo for that matter.

The Ballon d'Or will be decided imo by the player that wins the CL.
