Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    or Ronaldo for that matter.

The Ballon d'Or will be decided imo by the player that wins the CL.

That's true, Ronaldo definitely has a say in it still! Long way to go before it's won!

Dimitar Berbatov has been absolutely brilliant tonight.

And no, Dave! has not logged on to my account.

    Owen coming on for Berba

    Diouf coming on for Rooney

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,732 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

No offence, but the idea of playing Rooney on the left is ridiculous,

It's not ridiculous and has actually been done as recent as last season against Boro and it worked.

Rooney for me every day through the centre, but when our 2 left wingers are injured/suspended tis a pretty viable option IMO.

    G'wan Owen!

    Diouf as well!

    So Berb and Rooney off!

I love the way you've completely forgotten about Messi!

Oh yeah, that guy. Handy little player alright, I predict big things from him.

Rooney > Messi on current form. You'd be a fool to argue otherwise.

you'd be a bigger fool to argue that Rooney should get the award based on his last month or twos form.

Owen is finished, Ferguson even seems to recognise this now. I'd put money on him leaving in the summer.

Jesus Al. Statistically you should be right at least once. :D

Delighted for Owen, nice finish and so quick after coming on,

can be no complaints from West Ham as they had the 1st chance to put it out, and the same player let Owen in behinf him for the goal.

owen scoring a third goal doesn't mean he ain't finished Des. Wanna put some money on him being at old trafford next year?

    He is far from finished.

Even if he leaves United in the Summer there would be plenty of clubs willing to take him.

No chance, Berbatov made the two goals.

    Ahhhhhhhhhhh Scholes!!!!

Absolutely not. Scholes set him up for the thirds goal when the defence was tired. Berbatov helped to break down the defence when they were still defending without having concedded, totally different.

Good finish from Owen though, would be nice to have him as an option in the run in, but I don't expect him to be of a high enough standard. I also don't expect him at United next season. Still offered more to us that Tevez did though so :)

Scholes done all the hard work, should have finished it.

ah yeah, above Dirk Kuyt levels...

seriously though Rooney has been great for the whole season. He hasn't scored 20 odd goals in the last month...

Scoring a goal in the league is the opposite of being finished.
And he's the joint 2nd top scorer in the champions league.
And I'm not a united fan for feck sake.

A hat-trick in the Champions League would suggest otherwise though.

He is a decent back-up striker at this level, no doubt.

    He has proved that.

Haha, that attempted short corner from Noble...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

ok. no sense in arguing. i would have thought ferguson under-using him to the extent he has this season and the majority of his performances being poor when given a chance would have made it clear but obviously not. we'll agree to disagree on the matter until the summer when he is sold on, then everyone can go back to thinking he is finished again just like they did last year when he was struggling to get a game for newcastle.

    Is Gerrard finished aswell?

They are on the same amount of goals for the season.

Owen and Gerrard playing for Wolves next year then!

What does them scoring the same amount of goals have to do with anything? They play in different positions for starters.

    How did Neville cope?

Well one is hardly a fooking goaly is he?

They both play predominately play in the last 3rd of the pitch.

I wasn't saying Gerrard is finished I was pointing out how ridiculous that statement was.

if gerrards performances this season aren't improved upon, then yes, he is finished. however i suspect they will, owen is doing the best he can, just ago't good enough anymore imo

Didn't have much to do truth be told, but he made no mistakes when he had some defending to do, didn't do much coming forward, but neither did Evra on the other side.

    Great stuff.

Having Nemanja Vidic back was brilliant, he is just ****ing huge.
Scholesy was terrific, dictated the game.
Antonio Valencia has turned out to be a brilliant signing, well done son.
Dimitar Berbatov has one of his best games for United tonight.
    Wayne Rooney.

We'll take him at united. Pay as you play contract though.

Obviously we will have to get the Bishops in to excercise the Scouse out of him.
