We have been trying to conceive for 2 years now and no luck.
Just wondering what the procedure is for getting fertility tests done?
Do we just make an appointment with our GP and go from there - if so what happens next and how long before we could expect a diagnosis?

Also wondering about places like the kilkenny clinic - can we make an appointment with them directly or do you need to be referred from your GP?

Sorry for all the questions but we have no idea about this at all.

    Thanks.

Talk to your dr and see where they think they should refer you, you could always get a few referal letters and send them and see who comes back and with that time frame.

There is no way to give a time scale as there are a whole range of different possible issues.
It could be something which just needs a change in diet or it could be something which needs IVF or surgry there's no way of knowing until you start the process.

Cheers Thaedydal. I guess it's just time to bite the bullet and see what the doc advises.

hi, im currently in the process of fertility tests, the doctor can get blood tests done for you at his/her clinic while you are waiting to be refered to a gyne clinic. if you try and go to a dr that specialises in family health or womens health.

best of luck to you and your partner and wishing you the best of luck in trying to conceive x
