Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great stuff from anelka to get the ball out of there.

Some of his stuff in deeper positions is world class these days. Lovely all round footballer now.

there really is no point in going for it too much and losing another goal on the break

Chelsea are in a strong position in the tie with this score line

didnt look intentional, more a careful caressing of the high point of his thigh

    2-1 is brutal for Inter.

If it finishes like this I reckon they will be eliminated.

Mourinho is a fool if he thinks otherwise.

taking any sort of a lead into a 2nd leg tie is anything but brutal imo.

2-1 is gran for Chelsea, I'd say they'd be delighted with that.

They'll take this lot easily at Stamford Bridge IMO.

They away goal gives Chelsea the edge imo.

I couldnt see Inter getting more than one if even at Stamford bridge.

but they are banking on themselves to score at the bridge which isnt guaranteed and hoping they can keep Chelsea from scoring which is even less likely

im starting a petition to ban mikel from taking shots

To be honest, watching Chelsea defend of late, I think I'd back Inter to get one at the Bridge. However, 3 weeks is a long time for Chelsea to get their house in order.

Inter are more than capable of simply not losing to Chelsea.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

2-1 not the worst. We should beat them at the bridge.

Think Inter needed to win it 3-0 to make sure. 2-0 to Inter tonight and Id still make Chelsea favourites. 2-1 to Inter, Chelsea big favourites.

cant see them trying to score though PHB, think Mourinho will send them out to try stifle Chelsea into a 0-0...not sure he can do it

i really hope not, want to see Chelsea have as much distraction from the league as possible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,831 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

and the battle will rage on at the bridge.
    think we should take them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,681 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

I fancy inter at the bridge, they are bound to score, just have a look at their attacking force

and I reckon jose will put out a team especially for the counter attacking

The ref was an absolute joke tonight.

Rode Chelsea and bought about ten dives from Lucio.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 4,726 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gonzovision

I don't see us losing to them at the Bridge. But enough is enough, Ballack has to be dropped

3 players??? Lampard... thought he was clean?

edit - that refers to dunphy suggesting that three players were in trouble over personal issues....im sure everyone can guess the other two.

He was alright, got the peno wrong and Lucio did take a few tumbles but thought the ref was grand apart from that.

listening to dunphy u would swear we were hitting relegation in th league.
our away form has been terrible most of the season, nothing new there.
home form has us where we are in the league, and now inter have to visit on chelsea turf.
we are more than capable of getting a goal

you still banging on about that ?

The chap over did the drama and lost himself the peno in fairness

Dunphy even said that himself at half-time.

If he had of just gone down minus the drama he would have gotten it.

I wouldnt be worried if were you as I cant see Inter doing much at the bridge. Once Chelsea get one I reckon it will be game over.

Couldn't resist a comment about Lucio's performance tonight. He was astounding, completely dominated the Inter third of the pitch. One of the great performances. Right from the first minute when he went in with a purpose on Drogba he established himself as the boss on the night.

Banging on? Lol I was replying to the person who said the ref was ****e. I thought he was grand apart from getting the peno wrong? What's the problem?

"Ancelotti saying Cech is a "calf" problem not knee cruciate, a huge relief for Chelsea."

Hilario is the obvious one, we have Turnbull but wouldn't be confident with him starting to many games.

Only caught the second half due to work ,

2-1 is not the worst result in the world to be taking back to the bridge , albeit far from ideal

The hole Inter team from what I seen in the second half were a joke with there diving and play acting , Lucio been the number one culprit .

We lacked that cutting edge on the wings tonight IMO and need to sort it out for the home leg, I really expected us to pile on the pressure and nick a second but the team seemed content enough with the result.

In the first half Drogba played well, put himself about and got into some good positions and was unlucky not to bag a goal with his free kick.

Second half Lucio did a good job on him in fairness.

    2-1 = happy

shoulda gone for 2-2 which might make 3-1 cause we would turn 3-1 over. We will go through.
